User talk:Imoen

Heya, welcome to Wikipedia, Imoen. You might like to start by reading the tutorial and introducing yourself at the new users page. If you have any questions, you can ask at the help desk or on my talk page. Two useful tips are that you can sign your name using four tildes (~~~~), and that you can preview your changes before you save using the show preview button. You can regularly find new tips on the Community Portal. I look forward to reading your great articles and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. :-)

Ed pointed your account out to me. :-)

serogroup B meningitis

on the vacination article to added

A related problem is, for example, the expansion of serogroup B meningitis strains in the niche provided if serogroup C is largely eradicated through vaccination.

While I can find information supporting there being rise in serogroup B meningitis rates I can't find anything linking it to the drop in type C. What did I miss? :-)Geni 19:11, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Careful? I'm sure 'be bold' is a wikipedia policy. What you've added to the article looks good to me.Geni 20:30, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Edits reattribution.

If you want the edits you made as an anon (these) to your own account by making a request on Wikipedia:Changing attribution for an edit, but it might take a while - there's quite a lot of backlog, as it can only be done by a couple of people, both of whom are rather busy. :-)

Request and advice

I hope you'll have time and courage to go through the articles in your fields of competence and ruthlessly weed out misinformation, clarify generalities, fill omissions, while you keep up a steady flow of excellent images of interesting subjects. Pay no attention to the furious creatures a little over a meter tall, who will be furiously kicking at your shins. Wetman 17:54, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Suggested article.

I noted that we don't have anything at Ring species, and thought that you'd probably be the best person to mention this to (or, at least, the most productive).
Yours,

Lupus

Imoen, my compliments on the SLE article. This is really a vast improvement! I have changed the criteria a little bit: in the old version, criterium 10 was still a positive "lupus cell" preparation. This has been abandoned in favour of antiphospholipid antibody positivity. References have been provided (although I'll try and insert the medical journal references as well).

Please stay and do more of this magic on other medical articles! Would you happen to know a surgeon who could help out at the Wikiproject "Clinical medicine"? (You're also invited.) JFW | T@lk 19:05, 20 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi, Viki, welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for the kind words.

an autism epidemiology article

Autism (incidence) might benefit from your reviewing it. It arose by cutting out everything unverified from Autism epidemic including, inevitably, the title. I didn't see a definition of incidence or prevalence which had been confused with it, nor any discussion of new cases vs incidence, in the other existing pages on epidemiology, so there are a couple of boxes in the article. It is undoubtedly the case that the new cases one could be improved. Midgley 11:09, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Viki Male, profile photo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Viki Male, profile photo.jpg, which you've attributed to Michael Carratt. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 23:14, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
