Chicago
Hi Harout72. Sorry for bothering you, but could I please see Chicago´s certifications and do you have Neil Young´s certifications?. Thank You very much in advance and a happy new Year.--Jlo Fan 1999 (Talk) 20:05, 6. January 2018 (CET)
- Happy new year, here you are with Chicago's file.--Harout72 (talk) 21:56, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

Old Dutch Certification?
Hi Harout72. Found this info of a 'Little Man' single by Sonny & Cher being certified Gold in Holland in 1967, it was reported in these two magazines in February '67, one is from Record World and the other is from Cash Box. Here are the articles: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DP7K-tgUIAA-gRl.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DTD48VUVAAEQZEv.jpg:large Are those good enough to add to Cher's total? Not a big amount but still it's info... Thanks! --Uncleangelo (Talk) 21:23, 9. January 2018 (CET)
- I would personally accept it if detailed scan is provided for the cover of the magazine and the entire page where the article is (if possible of both magazines). This never appeared in NVPI's database when it was still functioning, but then "Little Man" is from 1966 and their database wouldn't be launched for another 12 years.--Harout72 (talk) 14:13, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Here's the pdf of the Cash Box magazine, better to use this one as they mention the sale figure. Would a PDF work? If so, here's the page with the article: http://www.americanradiohistory.com/hd2/IDX-Business/Music/Archive-Cash-Box-IDX/60s/1967/CB-1967-02-04-OCR-Page-0058.pdf and here's the full magazine if needed: http://www.americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Cash-Box/60s/1967/CB-1967-02-04.pdf Thank you! --Uncleangelo (Talk) 07:06, 10. January 2018 (CET)
- OK got it, I added it. Thanks.--Harout72 (talk) 23:56, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Harout72: Little man is a song by Sonny and Cher, not Cher as a solo artist, the 40kk certifications in the table includes Cher as a duo with Sonny too?!--88marcus (talk) 01:09, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, all certifications with Sonny are included and should be included, see my file here, whatever's on there is also included on the list. We do this for all other artists as well, why are you surprised?--Harout72 (talk) 02:27, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Harout72: Why don't you include Wham! sales for George Michael?! I think with Wham sales he could be listed as 100 million copies worldwide...--88marcus (talk) 03:29, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- Wham is a band on its own. This is not the same case. We also don't include Genesis certifications in Phil Collins' total. Sonny and Cher is very much like two solo artists having collaborated together. If George Michael had, for example, collaborated with another solo artist on an entire album, the certification of that album would be included in his total.--Harout72 (talk) 04:48, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- It's the same situation as with Tina and Ike Turner, right? Anyway, it makes sense... thanks Harout!--Uncleangelo (Talk) 04:23, 10. January 2018 (CET)
- Wham! is a duo like Sony and Cher, and its like 100% George Michael, since only him sing the songs and compose almost 100% of them. But ok, I'll not fight with that. Also, George Michael has 20.5kk with certifications in USA, and is listed in the article as 19.8kk, can you fixed it [1]?! ^^--88marcus (talk) 17:15, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

Wham is band, regardless of the fact that it consisted of two members, it is not a collaboration of two solo artists, you're confusing one with another. Also, I went over my file for George Michael, I seem to have every certification that is on RIAA site. Let me know if I'm missing something on my file.--Harout72 (talk) 18:20, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- My bad. I confused Video longform with single, sorry.--88marcus (talk) 19:02, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
Presley on List of best-selling music artists
Harout, I know you're a good editor. I'm not upset that you didn't recognize that I'm also a good editor. But now please take a look at my userpage. The simple fact is you have no plausible argument in this case. All of the sources I cited obviously meet WP:V, and if we took this into any sort of arbitrative forum, almost everyone would recognize that all four sources I cite are superior to all three legacy sources. Take a breath, take a look, and acknowledge that fact. The Daily Herald of Arlington Heights? Seriously? I think you're too good to fight for that.
I'm sure you're concerned about the "truth". As well you should be. Please believe me, so am I. Before we talk further, I would ask you to read this: "For the Billionth and the Last Time: Lifting the Lid on the King's Record Sales". All the best. — DCGeist (talk) 06:36, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Read the Definitions on the main page and stop edit warring.--Harout72 (talk) 08:35, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Oh, dude. You set DocKino off, and he's such a mellow guy. I guess you figure you control this list. Alright, that happens. Just curious, did you bother to read the article I linked above? Or do you know everything relevant already? — DCGeist (talk) 09:11, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- As I mentioned on the talk page of the list, even reliable sources publish inflated sales figures. This is nothing new, I've been editing the List of best-selling music artists for 10 years now, I've seen enough inflated sales figures, and Presley's 1 billion is one of them.--Harout72 (talk) 09:16, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Believe me, I understand that. Just this week, I worked to make sure the Elvis Presley article dismissed the widespread claim that the Aloha from Hawaii telecast was viewed by 1 billion, or 1.3 billion, or 1.5 billion people. I feel you. Now, I will ask you again, did you bother to read the article I linked above? This one: "For the Billionth and the Last Time: Lifting the Lid on the King's Record Sales". You seem to feel very strongly about this matter. Why not acquire as much worthwhile information as you can about it? — DCGeist (talk) 09:23, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

Sinatra/Bowie
Hi Harout72. Sorry for bothering you, but could I please see Frank Sinatra´s and David Bowie´s certifications? Thank You very much in advance.--Jlo Fan 1999 (Talk) 19:55, 18. January 2018 (CET)
- Sure, here is the file for Sinatra and here is Bowie's.--Harout72 (talk) 19:07, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Despacito (Remix)
Hi Harout72. Apology for the inconvenience, but i want to know why Justin Bieber still no yet certified with his Diamond award (10x Platinum in US). There were so many comments on twitter that Justin Bieber was not on the Diamond Award for “Despacito.” The RIAA has rescinded & the Remix of “Despacito” has achieved Diamond Status, so Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, & Justin Bieber will all receive the Diamond. Please, answer my question. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Danyal17 (talk • contribs) 03:53, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- The remix version featuring Justin Bieber has just been certified by the RIAA for 10x Platinum.--Harout72 (talk) 13:16, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
ZZ Top & Leonard Cohen

Mention in Talk:List of best-selling singles in South Korea
Hello.
I wanted to apologize for linking your username in that discussion. It was not my intention to invite you, criticize your comments, or speak ill of you. All I was attempting to do was point out that the line you wrote "it seems the downloads mainly have become popular there in 2010" was a bit mistaken.
Once again, apologies. --Mαuri ’96 (talk · cont) 01:09, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying your intention. But South Korea's music market in general was so small before 2011, they couldn't even enter the IFPI's annual top-20 list of the largest music markets. If you look at the percentage of the singles sales before 2010 for South Korea, they were barely selling any singles in that market at all. Their sales have mainly been based on physical albums. That's what I based my statement on.--Harout72 (talk) 05:25, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- While we're on the topic, I'm pretty sure the IFPI reports included only physical sales in their sales volume counts through 2010, which is why in 2010 Japan's (physical) music market was larger than the United States', which sold 1.17 billion tracks in 2010 but only 1.5 million physical singles in 2010
- I realize that in terms of revenue South Korea's digital sector isn't very large, even experiencing a decline in 2012. All the best-selling singles in South Korea list attempts to measure is sales volume, which peaked from 2009-2011.--Mαuri ’96 (talk · cont) 04:11, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- I agree that the Digital numbers are not included, but the annual revenue for each market is fully reported on those IFPI tables.--Harout72 (talk) 14:19, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
Kenny G/Duran Duran/Supertramp
Hi Harout72. Sorry for bothering you, could I please see Kenny G´s certifications and do you have Duran Duran´s or Supertamp´s certifications? Thank You very much in advance.--Jlo Fan 1999 (Talk) 18:04, 21. February 2018 (CET)
- Here you go: Kenny G, Duran Duran, Supertramp.--Harout72 (talk) 17:13, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi Harout72. Kenny G has 245,000 certified units in Australia. Breathless was certified three times platinum in 1993 (https://www.ariacharts.com.au/annual-charts/1993/albums-chart) and Greatest Hits was certified Gold in 1998 (http://www.aria.com.au/pages/aria-charts-accreditations-albums-1998.htm). Have a nice weekend.--Jlo Fan 1999 (Talk) 13:07, 24. February 2018 (CET)

Danish certification update for Believe
Hi Harout! I've asked about any new Cher certifications in Denmark, and got a reply from them: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DXk2hn1UQAITVU8.jpg:large So, apparently 'Believe' has been certified as 7xPlatinum in 2016 but it's still not in their online database. How much copies would that be? Hopefully they will updated their page soon. Thanks! -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 07:06, 06. March 2018 (CET)
- The e-mail speaks of the track "Believe" as in single, which would mean 420,000 units if certified before April 1, 2016. If certified after April 1, 2016, it's for 630,000 units. IFPI Denmark has been applying their recent levels to all titles regardless of release date since July 2012.--Harout72 (talk) 04:19, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- That's great in either case, I have asked them to make it visible on their website so we'll find out the date, I will of course ask them via email just in case so that it would be possible to add in the correct amount to her total. Cheers! -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 07:06, 06. March 2018 (CET)
- Also, I got a reply from NVPI confirming Cher's Platinum certifications for the Believe single and album, and the Greatest Hits album. Here's the screenshot from the email: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DX1uuUrU8AAaH5J.jpg:large So, along with the 1967 Gold certification, the total in the Netherlands should be 375k right? Anyway, could these be added to her total? Thanks! -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 21:29, 09. March 2018 (CET)
- Yes, the total would be 375,000, but that screen shot cannot be used as it doesn't look like an official e-mail. It doesn't have anything like NVPI's logo or the specific department name it came from, it just says Jessica. No offense but readers might think we now have begun designing such e-mails on words document to support certifications. I could accept it if it looked for instance like ARIA's e-mail.--Harout72 (talk) 14:21, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
- Ha, I cut that part before posting it, I mean the NVPI's email address was still visible at the top of the screenshot, so anyone can send an email to ask them and check the info. Anyway, here's the full screenshot with the logo, hope that will do now - https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DX3VXUeVQAALb-x.jpg - thanks! -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 04:54, 10. March 2018 (CET)
- Who sent this e-mail? There is no name, there is no date, it looks like it's been put together on power point. We normally get these e-mails from specific departments with names of senders. For example the other day I received this e-mail from IFPI Sweden. It should look like that or the one from ARIA above.--Harout72 (talk) 18:33, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
- I've sent the email to NVPI's only available email address, which is visible on the screenshot, and that's the reply I got. I guess they're not as 'professional' as the IFPI. I will ask them to send the info again as a PDF perhaps, but for now maybe we could be use the screenshot temporarily as it does confirm what we already had for her certifications in the Netherlands? Thanks either-way. -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 06:04, 10. March 2018 (CET)
- Hi Harout, I've finally received the reply from IFPI Denmark, I've put both screenshots together so they work well as a reference - https://www.mediafire.com/view/szhb211eibrhjcb/gallery. 'Believe' was certified on April the 12th, which I was very happy to see as by what you wrote, that means it was awarded for 630k, right? Anyway, hope this is verifiable enough to include into Cher's total. I'm just curious why it's not in the system, I imagine they have more certifications missing for other artists too? Anyway, thanks. -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 22:07, 12. March 2018 (CET)::
- The requirements for albums have not been changed since 2011. This certification most likely doesn't appear on their site because it hasn't been completely processed, in other words, the fee possibly has't been paid yet by the label, or it could be something else. But the record company would demand to see the certification posted on the IFPI Denmark site, if everything was complete. I'm afraid I'm gonna leave it out for now. She doesn't seem to be proficient in the area of Gold and Platinum certifications. Just like she doesn't know that the requirements for albums haven't been amended since 2011, she's failing to give a clear explanation as to why it's not on their site.--Harout72 (talk) 13:19, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Okay, I asked for more info and she was quick this time, and seems she is very proficient - note that she is Danish after all and not a native English speaker. http://www.mediafire.com/view/sdadcx6kp34t93a/IFPI%20DK%20email.png With this I think we should add it to Cher's total, and I'm not just referring to the 'Best Selling Artists' list, but your Cher word document too. Think that you know by now that I've not posted one single false information, I'm all for finding true info and back them up with proof. In the end, 630k is not a big amount, but it's not a measly amount as well. Not having it on their website doesn't prove the single didn't sell 630k, but it proves record companies don't want to spend extra money on aging artists, which just underlines just how much the whole music industry is. But again, this info does exist, and it wouldn't be right to just ignore it. Thanks.-- Uncleangelo (Talk) 02:03, 13. March 2018 (CET)
- There you go, she said it herself, it means the single has yet to be certified, it is not processed yet. The label hasn't paid the fee yet because most likely they expect it to reach higher levels of sales. They don't want to pay multiple fees. If they wait for it to reach higher cert levels, they pay only one fee regardless how many Platinum levels it's certified, if they pay for 7x Plat., then they would have to pay another fee for higher levels. The fact of the matter is that the track has no certifications. So adding an actual sales figure or uncertified sales figure is no different. And I'm sure you know by now, we add only certified sales in the column of the certified sales. But I appreciate your inquiries. I'm pretty sure it will eventually end up being certified.--Harout72 (talk) 15:20, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- That's just nonsense, besides, it's 2018 now so they will not pay anytime soon, most probably they will wait till she's dead and gone, as they usually do with veteran acts. But again, she said it herself that the track IS certified, the fee is just for putting it on their list online, which one day may be obsolete, just like the NVPI's website is. The point is, the track is certified and was said so by an IFPI employee, and anyone can check that if in doubt. It is not fair to nitpick when a reference like this is at hand and can be verified too. -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 02:03, 13. March 2018 (CET)

It is not certified when the process isn't complete. It has to go through all the levels of whatever process there is involved. Whether it's a fee or another issue. Her English has nothing to do with how she's presenting her knowledge. She first claims album levels have changed in 2016 also, then she says no you're right only tracks. And then she says it's certified 7x Plat. when the process isn't finished yet. It is actually the other way around. It's the record company that comes forward by submitting the form to the certifying body for proof of sales along with the required fee to get records certified. Let's please agree on something, if a certifying body has a certification d-base, and the certifications are not showing up on their site, we'll leave them out, unless the certification is issued years before the d-base has begun posting certs.--Harout72 (talk) 15:48, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- The IFPI is a certifying body, not the label, therefore they have certified a track on a specific date, she didn't say the track's current sales or anything ambiguous without a specific date or level of certification. The track is almost 20 years old (!!!) and of course the process of it to be listed online is not complete because neither Cher or label would benefit much of it, but the certification still exists and it was issued on the 12th of April, 2016. It is weird that the label wouldn't want it to be out there, but weirder things have happened in the music industry. Anyway, all I am saying is to keep this info in mind and on file, I mean, you can put it in parenthesis or whatever, but the Danish 7xPlatinum certification for 'Believe' exists in one form or another. -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 03:45, 13. Here's the PDF of the email: http://www.mediafire.com/file/5dhnsyi6ixrm3gh/NVPI_Cher+Certifications.pdf Not gonna push it this time, but this one is formatted properly so it should be fine, even though it's the same info as the one I got before... thanks anyway. -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 22:23, 16. - Hi Harout, I've received a few PDFs from Warner Music Denmark with various Cher certifications they submitted and received with IFPI Denmark (still no answer as to why these are not online) but they say the albums were certified fully and properly and the plaques have been issued as well (there are codes in the PDFs). Just have them in mind, and if they are reliable in your opinion, add them to the list of Cher's certifications:

- Ok, while the certification fees have yet to be paid for these to be posted on Danish IFPI's site, I decided to add them as these are official documents sent to Warner Music Denmark to be processed. Where is the document for the track "Believe" which was supposedly certified 7x platinum?--Harout72 (talk) 22:23, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks! It is a similar situation with chart/certification info/references that basically only exist in various chart books and are not online, so I guess these should also be taken into consideration in the similar fashion. Anyway, my question to them was which other albums/singles they certified in recent years so they only sent me these. I asked straight away for the Believe PDF so they have yet to come back with it (hopefully), I did wait more than a month for the reply though...cheers! -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 09:01, 03. - Hey Harout. Got a reply re Believe, and it turns out, the album got re-certified as 7xPlatinum not the single. It also appeared on IFPI's database, along with Living Proof and the compilations. Now, the cert for 7x Platinum would add to 140,000 copies, so it will actually take away from her total, which is not much but still not logical at all. There was a recent Danish article where they posted her with the 5xPlatinum award in 1999 (250k copies, article says 270k) here's the link: https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/kultur/30-aar-siden-vandt-hun-en-oscar-nu-faar-cher-rolle-i-abba-film So, in all fairness how on Earth can a record go from, let's say a million to 300k, even with the new certification level changes. Either way, mystery solved...cheers! -- Uncleangelo (Talk) 07:04, 09. May 2018 (CET)
- If it was certified before July 2012, then it was certified 7x Plat. for 350,000 units. But in the e-mail you received from the person who was, she said it was certified in 2016. So maybe they've certified the re-issued version of Believe. Are you using one other account when editing wiki pages? I recognized the name Alfie bot.--Harout72 (talk) 23:17, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
- I wasn't able to log in with this account so I made another, which I won't be using for sure, unless I need to. Anyway, yes, in their database it says it was certified on 4th of April 2016. Either way, not sure how to count the sales now, it was one of the big sellers at the time with sales over 250k in the late '99. It would be logical to add to those sales, not retract from them. Uncleangelo (Talk) 09:40, 09. May 2018 (CET)
- For the time being we should stick to 5x Plat. for 250,000 units, which is what we see in Billboard source, also in your recent source. So what is your edit here basing on with 7x Plat.? Have you come across another source that supports 7x plat. for 350,000 units?--Harout72 (talk) 23:52, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
- I didn't insert that figure, that's just automatically calculated based on the release/certification year maybe and I didn't see it... Either way, here are Cher results on IFPI Denmark http://www.ifpi.dk/?q=search/node/Cher Anyway, as for the sales total, it would be better accuracy-wise to hold on to the late 90s figure regardless of the certification status. Uncleangelo (Talk) 10:02, 09. May 2018 (CET)
- The certification year and the month must be specified for Danish cert. templates so it can bring up the correct results. I guess the fees finally have been paid.--Harout72 (talk) 00:13, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Danish certification levels
Hi Harout, I just wanted to run something past you regarding the certification levels for Denmark. It currently appears that the template {{Certification Table Entry}} for Denmark automatically adjusts the number of shipments/sales (I don't know which one IFPI Denmark uses) based on the year of release of the single or album. However, looking at IFPI Denmark's criteria for gold and platinum records here, and in particular the fourth sentence which in Google Translate comes out as "Certifications are always made according to the applicable criteria, regardless of when the release is released"... that sounds to me as though the shipment/sales amounts are based on the certification levels at the time of certification, not on the levels at the time of the original year of release. I mention this to you because obviously it will affect your databases of worldwide cumulative sales based on certification for each artist, particularly for any record released before 1994 and being certified in 2018, as the levels will be out by a factor of four for platinum discs and five for gold discs.
Have I understood this correctly, and if so, shall I put in a request to get {{Certification Table Entry}} changed? Richard3120 (talk) 15:28, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
Update: I've just seen your replies to the thread above about the Danish certifications for "Believe", so yes, you are already aware and agree that sales are based on current certification levels and not release date. I will ask for the template to be changed accordingly, So actually the template is correct, and apologies for taking up your time. Richard3120 (talk) 17:47, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
- Yup, they apply their most recent levels to both singles and albums regardless of release dates. But they seem to have begun using this method only since July 2012. Before that it was based on release dates. I discussed this a while back with Muhandes, see the discussion here. Based on my research and our discussion, he implemented those.--Harout72 (talk) 18:10, 8 June 2018 (UTC)

Real McCoy Chart positions.
Hello Harot!
It is a fact that Real McCoy's 'another night' reached No.1 in Canada in 1994 on the Dance/Urban Charts
there's a difference between the RPM dance vs. the RPM 100 list.
why do u reference the 100 list only?
if you visit the actual Canadian database https://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/films-videos-sound-recordings/rpm/Pages/list.aspx?OCRText=real+mccoy&Year=1994&
you can see that the single entered the RPM dance charts at #7 on Mar 07, 1994 and peaked at #1 on Mar 28, 1994 dance s
'automatic lover' was also released in this territory for the first time in Dec. 9 and peaked at No.9
'another night' reached the hot 100 list at # 90 on May 09, 1994 and peaked at # 55 on by June 13, 1994 .
why do you reference this chart over the RPM dance chart?
Dancemusicfan (talk) 10:30, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
- Official singles charts and Dance charts are two different things. The official singles charts all around the globe are based on sales, while Dance charts are not. And the table that we have for Real McCoy's singles uses official singles charts for Canada and all others. But the pages of singles can include charts of all sorts as there are no restrictions and I see the Dance Charts peak's for Canada has already been added at Another Night.--Harout72 (talk) 12:30, 27 October 2018 (UTC)

Gaga UK
Harout, regarding this don't understand your edit summary? Why did you lessen the total for UK by 100,000 units? As far as I can it was me who updated for the A Star Is Born and Shallow to the existing totals. —IB [ Poke ] 10:16, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
- I meant to type Correcting Lady Gaga's UK's total as there is no certification for "Star Is Born" as added by another editor. What I normally do is I go over the weekly posted BPI certifications each week, so when I finished checking the week of "9 Nov 18 to 9 Nov 18" certifications, it wasn't there, I wasn't sure why the Gold for A Star Is Born was added when there was no certification for it yet. But later I searched for it in the database by the title, surely enough it was certified. It appears that I missed it last week (2 Nov 18 to 2 Nov 18) as it's posed as a soundtrack. But, no worries, I quickly restored the UK's total.--Harout72 (talk) 13:38, 10 November 2018 (UTC)

Elton John
Dear Harout, i just have one question about the list of best selling artist. according to the rules it says if two artist have the same claimed sales the artist with the higher certificated sales will be put first. For example AC/Dc is put before the rolling stones , and whitney houston ist put before celine dion. So should elton john not be located right after michael jackson, cause of higher certificatede sales than madonna ? Best regards--Denverdylan111 (talk) 18:01, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
- Normally, that is done when both the first and the second claimed sales are either the same, and/or the second claimed sales of two artists are pretty close to each other. But in this case Madonna's second claimed sales is 25 million units ahead of Elton John's second claim. However, the images of the higher certified artists are always placed in that ranking you're referring to.--Harout72 (talk) 20:13, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for replying so fast. Ok I understand. I just thought the first number was the same and the certificated sales were quite higher. Like in the 200 million category for example ,AC/DC is in front of the rolling stones with claimes of 150 to 200 million while the stones have just claims of 200 million. --Denverdylan111 (talk) 23:06, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Bing Crosby’s Sales
On the page for best selling musical artists, why is Bing Crosby not mentioned? He should be near the top, with estimated over 1 billion records sales, only rivaled by Elvis and the Beatles. And Elvis and the Beatles both also have over a billion sales. I believe Frank Sinatra has 300 million. Either way the numbers are wrong. I could show you some numbers, perhaps? The album Paulina was certified 2x Platinum in 2000 and finally 4x platinum in 2001 but he keep saying that it sold 6x platinum, even though the Amprofon website and the official Amprofon facebook page says the contrary, the last certification is of course 4x platinum, all the time he includes fake certs in Paulina's page, certifications from 999.com and other sites like that. UK certifications for budget albums?
Hi Harout, I have found that the budget albums in the UK need to sell twice the amount to get certified, so is this being taken into consideration when updating the ‘best selling artists ‘ article? - Well, apparently they need to sell more copies in order to get certified. This is what I read on one of the music forums:

So, I'm not sure how this is helpful if the BPI database doesn't make the distinction which albums are 'budget albums'. Unless you're a fan of the artist and you know the price of the album in the UK... (Uncleangelo (talk) 09:50, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, I have the PDF document from BPI, see the full criteria here. But since BPI doesn't specify which albums sells at what price, there is no possible way for us to guess. We just have to keep them all at 60,000/100,000/300,000.--Harout72 (talk) 13:08, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
Hey Harout72, I know it's been a while since you edited the article, but since you edit other Backstreet Boys articles, can you please add the article to your watchlist and keep an eye out for the editor Carmaker1 trying to shoehorn some invented featuring credit to Shania Twain on the song "I Need You Tonight" into the article? He added a link to a Billboard article where the songwriter Andrew Fromm is talking about how Mutt Lange added a sample of Shania's vocals to the song (when the source doesn't even say she was actively involved) and reverted an editor who removed it a while back. It's debatable whether it should even be included in the track listing section at all, as she's not credited whatsoever in the booklet or the cover, or on any website that lists the album's credits, so it's certainly not official. Anyway, if you do, thanks, it'd be much appreciated. Ss112 04:00, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
- I have Milleniaum on my watchlist, but I normally concentrate on Gold and Platinum certifications. I agree with your recent edits on the article, it should not in any way say featuring Shania Twain when it includes just a sample. I'll try to keep an eye on it.--Harout72 (talk) 12:44, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Chris Brown's Sales
Hi! Harout72 Could I ask you some edits. Some of Chris Brown's Plaques are missing.
Post To Be - 3x Platinum Only - 3x Platinum All Eyes On You - 2x Platinum Waves - Platinum Play No Games - Platinum My Last - Platinum Shortie Like Mine - Platinum (Mastertone) & Gold I'm the Man - Gold Take It to the Head - Gold Another Round - Gold
These are Chris Brown's featuring songs.
So I think the Chris Brown's US Sales is 102,500,000 (88,550,000 + 14,000,000) or 100,050,000 (86,050,000+ 14,000,000)
I'd like you to check it out and fix it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HeartbreakOnAFullMoon (talk • contribs) 12:58, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
- See this document for Chris Brown's detailed certified sales. I just added the 3x Plat. for "Post to Be", and also updated the certs for "Play No Games" and "My Last". All those certification for songs that include more than three artists are not included. The certifications that are missing on the document with maximum three artists, make sure to post the main artist's name so I can look into them.--Harout72 (talk) 15:15, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
I heard you added Post to Be, Play No Games & My Last. But isn't it +5M instead of +4M? I think US Sales is 93.550M instead of 92.550M
I wrote it very clear.
Nicki Minaj - "Only" ft. Chris Brown, Drake & Lil Wayne - (3x Platinum). Meek Mill - "All Eyes On You" ft. Chris Brown & Nicki Minaj - (2x Platinum). Kanye West - "Waves" ft. Chris Brown & Kid Cudi - (Platinum). Bow Wow - "Shortie Like Mine" ft. Chris Brown & Johntá Austin - {Platinum (Mastertone)} & (Gold). 50 Cent - "I'm the Man" (Remix) ft. Chris Brown - (Gold). DJ Khaled - "Take It to the Head" ft. Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj & Rick Ross- (Gold). Fat Joe - "Another Round" ft. Chris Brown - (Gold). Rihanna - "Birthday Cake" (Remix) ft. Chris Brown - (Platinum).--HeartbreakOnAFullMoon (talk) 11:08, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
Wait. I just checked your documents. Once you have something to fix it "Questions" is Gold (Latin). So it is 0.03M not 0.5M And now Kid Ink - "Show Me" is 3x Platinum
and add these songs Nicki Minaj - "Only" ft. Chris Brown, Drake & Lil Wayne - (3x Platinum). Kanye West - "Waves" ft. Chris Brown & Kid Cudi - (Platinum). 50 Cent - "I'm the Man" (Remix) ft. Chris Brown - (Gold). DJ Khaled - "Take It to the Head" ft. Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj & Rick Ross- (Gold).--HeartbreakOnAFullMoon (talk) 11:39, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- I already had Gold for "Play no Games" and "My Last", so with additional 500,000 on each and 3 million for "Post to Be", that's 4 million. As for "Only", it cannot be included as it has four artists involved, as I explained above we only include the certifications for songs that have maximum of three artists. The same goes for "Take It to the Head". This is also explained in the Definitions on List of best-selling music artists. As for "I'm the man" by 50 cent, it's unclear whether the RIAA cert is for the Remix version. Half of the songs you have above are included. As for the RIAA certification for "Questions", the Latin certification must be there by mistake because the song has to be at least 50% in Spanish in order to qualify for Latin type certification, this one is completely in English. Has it also been released in Spanish version?--Harout72 (talk) 12:38, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
No, the Spanish version didn't release. RIAA seems like wrong. Can I ask you one last favor? Please check the UK sales Chris Brown’s X album was certifed Gold So I think sales is 100,000 not 60,000 Thank You!!!--HeartbreakOnAFullMoon (talk) 07:08, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
One more RIAA certification is missing. New Boyz - Better With The Lights Off ft. Chris Brown (Platinum)--HeartbreakOnAFullMoon (talk) 21:49, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
- Just added it.--Harout72 (talk) 12:54, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Harout72 I think 50 Cent - I'm the Man (Gold) can be added CB's RIAA certifications https://www.billboard.com/music/50-Cent/chart-history/r-b-hip-hop-songs/4 Look at this link. 50 Cent Featuring Sonny Digital Or Chris Brown.... Hmm Ah! and Look at the Australian Certified Sales. - The song "I'm the Man" seems to feature Chris Brown only on some of the version of the title, therefore, it should be left out. The song "Fine China" is on my document as Platinum. I'll add Canada's Platinum for Heartbreak on a Full Moon. The certification for "No Guidance" have been already been added, see my document.--Harout72 (talk) 12:38, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

- Norwegian certified sales are left out for all artists at the moment, because it's not clear as to when some of the certification levels were amended in the past, therefore for consistency sake their certified sales are not being included for now until we get information from IFPI Norway for their changes in certification levels. Earlier certifications for Denmark specifically issued for Steaming cannot be included. The NZ certs above you have from Radioscope, please point out exact Month and Year where the certs are posted. Let's Agree Together
So far, all of the final decision on the list mostly come from yours. And mostly I agree with that, as long as we can accepted the calculation and gap between the claim sales and certified sales. I understand your effort to always updating the certified sales of those artists and I appreciated that. But sometimes your calculation is too much and you can not accept other editor opinion (mostly from me). You and me already handle the list since 2013, and that's more than 6 years. Of course we want the best for the list. And as for Mariah Carey's 200m. It is too much to wait Carey's certified sales reach 170m for "only" removing the old 175m claim. She's already at 165.9. I understand how your feeling, and I'm sorry for that if you feel being ignored. I will hold my ego next time and please do not take it personally, if you think my action is out of control. Just Undo it, or Just remind me. Make it simple. Politsi (talk) 05:15, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- The 165.9 million in certified sales that Carey has, doesn't necessarily mean that she's sold that much. Her recent certifications are at least 25%-50% streaming generated. So there still was some gap to be filled that's why I felt the 170 million in certified units would be the ideal point to remove the 175 million claim. And it's not that I feel ignored, it's my decision that you ignored, and by doing that you stepped all over your fellow main editor, and that's not how editors work together. I didn't revert your edit because I didn't want to do demonstrate to the public that we operate with such a behavior. By the way, artists that have begun charting in 1990 should only have small gaps between their certified sales and their lower available claims, especially those that have collected streaming generated certifications in the past three years. All key music markets and lot of the smaller sized notable music markets had certification systems in the 1990 and 1995.--Harout72 (talk) 13:20, 16 October 2019 (UTC)

Enrique Iglesias archieves
Hi Harout72,
Do you have an archive with a list of Enrique Iglesias's certifications worldwide? In 2007 his website said he sold 40 million records and now it says that he sold 180 million copies worldwide, that causes change of his sales constantly in his article. I'd like t know his certificated sales to include 60 million copies sold, it's the less inflated thing that I found. Thanks.--88marcus (talk) 03:05, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi Harout. A question: how reliable could be all Taylor Swift's album sales in this list in China? Do you have any idea? Seems like nobody have a strenght opinion, but most of these comments have pointed could be non-real (you can see examples in discussion from albums like "Anti"). Only the user who created (and 1-2 other) support their reliability. --Chrishonduras (talk) 15:40, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
- I'm not sure as I'm not familiar with those sites. Perhaps you can post those sources at the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard, and someone with knowledge can provide their explanation.--Harout72 (talk) 02:07, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks,I thought the same, just double-checking a second opinion. Harout, maybe this talk could be for your interest. Doesn't matter if you agree or desagree, I know you have a huge knowledge about the music sales and you are aware with cases of inflated sales (hope you can understand the context what I'm pointing out beyond "my english" as a "language barriors" =). Sandra discography
Hello. In reply to your question about why some of the columns in Sandra discography were removed even though they were sourced. Sorry if my edit came across as vandalism, it definitely wasn't my intention. Czech and Polish charts date back only to the late 1990s/early 00s and therefore do not cover the whole of Sandra's career which gives wrong impression that her earlier albums weren't successful enough to chart on them. Czech and Polish peaks for her most recent albums are included and sourced in those albums' respective articles. As for the Italian charts, website Hit Parade Italia is not an official source of chart positions. It's a sort of a fan-made aggregator and its methodology is not clear. I am in the process of researching and recovering official Italian and Danish positions. When these are complete, I'll surely include them in the article as they're much more representative than the ones that I removed. I suggest that we reinstate my version of the article as it included many additional references and information. If you feel strongly about it, I can also re-add Czech and Polish peaks for the time being? Let me know what you think. 1000MHz (talk) 16:32, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I believe that the Czech and the Polish columns should remain in the tables regardless of the fact that they do not cover the peaks of the 1980s and 1990s. I would, however, agree with the removal of the Italian charts, because I too notice discrepancies when comparing the peaks posted in Hit Parde Italia with Italiancharts.com.--Harout72 (talk) 16:50, 3 August 2020 (UTC)

Chris Brown discography
Good evening. The edit that you did in Chris Brown discography is contrasting and inconsistent. The "US R&B" chart is linked for the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (as we can see as well in any other hip hop or R&B artist discography, check this or this for example) and you put the source for R&B DIGITAL SONGS, a chart that has way less relevance and importance. I reverted your edit and corrected the name of the chart that the article is making a reference too. Have a nice day.--5.171.215.21 (talk) 17:58, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- I saw why you did that, the old source had a wrong plug in and it was not visible to see some charted positions (like the "No BS" one) this is the right update though, not the one you put.--5.171.215.21 (talk) 18:06, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

Definitely created in good faith, and it seems to be a valid list with decent sources, but I'm concerned that we don't have a definition of what constitutes a "Latin album" for inclusion on this list (the definition seems to have been created by the article creator), and that albums at the lower end of the list may have sales too low/trivial to include. Also I don't know what the rules are on including country flags in the tables, and the article creator (a native Spanish speaker) has included Spanish names rather than English ones, e.g. spelling "México" with an accent on the "e", and using "EE.UU." which is the Spanish form of "USA". - Hi Richard, I'm only involved in the List of best-selling music artists, but I've come across the list you're speaking of. It looks like that list simply relies on sources, it doesn't seem to have any methodology like the one on work on. With all honesty, due to the limited time I have, I'm only going to continue my work on the List of best-selling music artists.--Harout72 (talk) 23:15, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- No worries, just wanted to make sure you are aware of its existence. I don't really have the time to check it either, and as there's been a genuine attempt to source the article, I'm happy to leave it alone as well. Richard3120 (talk) 23:19, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi, Harout. I'm very sorry to bother you. If you don't mind, could you please share with me the certification files of MJ, Presley and Madonna? Thanks in advance, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 09:06, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- It's no bother, here they are Micheal Jackson, Elvis Presley, Madonna.--Harout72 (talk) 14:01, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
Pink discography
Can We Change France peak positions for Swiss peak positions? Pink is more successful in Switzerland and have more certification. LB2001 (talk) 23:23, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- France has world's 5th biggest music market, Switzerland ranks number 17th market on IFPI annual list. So even if France has fewer certifications than Switzerland, it is a far more important market to be listed.--Harout72 (talk) 23:36, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
That any other changes? For Switzerland or for Denmark or for Sweden? Can we change Netherlands or Ireland for some of these 3? LB2001 (talk) 07:11, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
I saw from the page you linked me that Ireland didn't entered to the chart unless here I can see Switzerland Denmark and Sweden So I think Ireland should be changed for Switzerland LB2001 (talk) 08:22, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
- I moved this discussion to Talk:Pink discography so others would see it also, you can continue commenting there.--Harout72 (talk) 13:26, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Thank You When can I do the changes? To change Ireland to Switzerland? I would like to do it as soon as possible LB2001 (talk) 16:24, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Thank you to helped me realised the talk page for pink discography. Sorry for the changes which were bad. If there will be no reaction can I do the changes? LB2001 (talk) 16:35, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Working dog
Thanks for riding herd so perfectly appropriately at List of best-selling music artists. You are the best person handling the constant stream of disputes at that page. I'm glad you have chosen the role of page protector. Binksternet (talk) 23:31, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks :), it's been quite the journey for me ever since I began working on that page.--Harout72 (talk) 23:53, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, this was your first edit at that page, back in December 2007. Thirteen years ago! Wow. You started out on Wikipedia interested in the Italian music topics Baltimora, Raf (singer) and Den Harrow, and also the German group C-Block. Doesn't that seem like eons ago? Cheers! Binksternet (talk) 05:49, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yup, those edits sure go back a long way. I was beginning to feel proud of my self until I saw the number of your edits, 350,000 + :). If wikipedia paid us $1 for every edit, you could be driving around in a brand you Lamborghini, while I'd be paying the unemployment department a visit in my Ford Fiesta lol.--Harout72 (talk) 14:02, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

UK
Hi, Harout. Just a minor correction, Rebel Heart in the United Kingdom reached gold status (100,000) and still with silver (60,000) in your file. Thanks, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 22:04, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- Got it.--Harout72 (talk) 22:26, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Best Selling
According to certified selling records "The Beatles" top the sales and "Rihanna" comes last from the first section. You reverted my edit, I didn't understand the science, please help me here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zaheer Don Zaheer Don (talk • contribs) 15:28, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

ARIA
Hi, Harout. See this example where Celebration: The Video Collection reached "platinum" in Australia. WP:GOODCHARTS listed AriaCharts.com as a web good to use for "sales". So not sure, if this can be updated in the list of best-selling music artists/album's article with a "platinum certification" or just "sales equivalent to platinum" (for the own album's article). I feel Australia's certitification database is a mess and its compared with databases from Spain/France/Argentina in which there are a lot of either related websites/PDFs with even some missed info/other related issues. Please advise. Sincerely, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 02:14, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- That Platinum is for the video (15,000 units), not album. I added that to my file and will also add it to the list.--Harout72 (talk) 12:29, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
CAPIF
- Hi, Harout. I found this PDF from CAPIF and it shows that Sticky & Sweet Tour (album, not DVD) reached Gold status in Argentina for sales of 20,000 in 2010. Control + F doesn't work, but info is located at page 17. If so, her certifications in that country should stand at 2,102,000 and total available units at 179 million. Also, more than one artist from wiki-list is in that PDF, if you want to re-verify. Cheers, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 14:32, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
To 80m
I bring this to your talk page to avoid any heat attention. Sometimes our argument on public makes me feel uncomfortable. I want to bring several artist at 75m to 80m. Enya, Nirvana, Usher, Black Eye Peas. What do you think? Thanks Politsi (talk) 00:50, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Black Eyed Peas: Let's move them to 80 million when they hit 70 million with their certified sales.
- Usher: If we have a reliable source for Usher, then we can move him to the 80 million section.
- Nirvana & Enya should not be moved up as their certified sales are not high yet.--Harout72 (talk) 04:43, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Youtube as a reliable source
YouTube cannot be used as a source but what I used as a reliable source is what they themselves said they need more evidence, from the same mouth of Britney and Katy came the words that I used to corroborate. I request that they leave my edition as I did since everything I put is verified said by the same artists. It also says on the trusted sources page "The videos can also be used as a convenience link to material originally posted elsewhere." The video of Britney and Katy was shown on television but no page spoke about it, I only rescued those videos and put them on. I ask that they leave it at that.
AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 19:34, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
- What you have used cannot be used, but if you have another source that states the same exact statement made by Spears, then yes by all means you can use it. As far as your YouTube video goes, notice that Britney states Shakira's name when her face isn't shown. That alone could be considered manipulated video.--Harout72 (talk) 20:37, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
I strongly ask that you leave it there, I was looking as much as possible for a magazine that mentions it or something from the interview but I found two similar videos uploaded, one in 2010 and the other in 2015, it is not edited because the subtitles are in the same TMF channel which also mentions Shakira. Please. AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 20:26, 7 June 2021 (UTC) Links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MULJsKJ6MJM and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOGeH1jQz8g
- You need a reliable source for your claims, those YouTube videos will not do.--Harout72 (talk) 22:00, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
If they can be used on the same Wikipedia, it is explained that "The videos can also be used as a convenience link to material originally posted elsewhere." And the videos are from the last Britney interview on television. AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 22:06, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
No Mercy
Hey Harout72, I hope you're well. I have no intention to start an editing war with you, so figured best to talk to you re No Mercy. My opinion is that that My Promise & No Mercy are the same album and ought to be listed as such, because it currently reads like No Mercy had 4 studio albums, which is no true, they had three. It should be noted that it was released under a different title in North America (as I noted). The status is My Promise and No Mercy were release a week apart, they had the majority of the same songs on both releases (not re-recorded) and while I understand the North American version omitted a couple of songs from the EU version, and included a couple of others (that were B-side of singles) this does not constitute a seperate studio album. There are HEAPS of examples of when an album is released with a different title and altered tracklisting for different markets, but they are NOT listed separately on an artists' discography page, the list I sent you had many examples of this - ie look at multiple examples on The Seekers discography, Impossible Princess by Kylie Minogue, Peter Gabriel's (1982 album) etc etc. Also, (not that this holds a lot of credibility but) both My Promise & No Mercy are currently in the same individual wiki page (as they should be). Hope to hear from you soon. Tobyjamesaus (talk) 00:03, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
- I was hoping that it wouldn't turn into an edit-warring, thanks for understanding. I also agree that No Mercy is not another studio album, but it certainly needs to be listed separately for the reasons I pointed out in the edit summary. As for the comparison you're making above, Impossible Princess doesn't seem to have different tracks for different markets, at least isn't on the album's page. Same goes to Peter Gabriel (1982 album). I don't think the difference we have between No Mercy and My Promise is similar to any of the albums listed at List of works with different titles in the United Kingdom and United States, they are simply released under different titles. The tracks included on No Mercy album is roughly 50% different from the tracks listed on My Promise, they cannot possibly be treated as the same album. Perhaps No Mercy can be placed in a separate table, with the table being entitled North American release.--Harout72 (talk) 02:02, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Harout72, I never want an editing war and glad you don't either. I'm also glad you agree it is not another studio album. When you wrote there were 2 additional songs on the North American (NA) release, I was going to say they were b-sides to singles, and omitting some songs doesn't make it another studio album. Perhaps those examples I gave you weren't the best, but there are albums that have different titles/slightly altered track listings but for all intents and purposes, is listed as the same album. However, we're in agreement, so that's good. :) I have taken what you've said and listed them separately, as you suggested above. Have a look at what I did and let me know what you think. Tobyjamesaus (talk) 07:22, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- Yup, I believe this is the best we can do, considering that the No Mercy is not another studio album, yet it is very different tracks wise from My Promise. Thanks for understanding.--Harout72 (talk) 11:41, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Sales certificaded
The same RIAA gave her a plaque when she sold her album "El Dorado" which includes 48 million albums sold and certified by them. They don't need any more proof. Image Link: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E3SjuPvWEAIcsYo.jpg AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 16:28, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- The fact of the matter is that her worldwide available certified albums sales are 23.3 million, which doesn't suggest anything remotely close to 48 million albums sales.--Harout72 (talk) 18:27, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
Well, I only gave a verifiable source that claims, furthermore, her sales are long out of date. So only she, the IFPI and the RIAA know how much she sold. I doubt the RIAA is lying. AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 19:01, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
List of best-selling music artists
Hello. I just curious how do you know what is already included or not? Eurohunter (talk) 19:44, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- You mean how others should know what certifications are included? I have detailed files for all artists, the certifications I have on the files those are also what's included on the list.--Harout72 (talk) 20:12, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
Spice Girls
I found this article from Music & Media and it clearly states in page 4 that their album Spice was certified 4× Platinum (400,000) in Italy in 1997, is it possible to add them in your files? Moh8213 (talk) 14:11, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
- As far as the certifications posted in Music & Media, I only feel comfortable adding the certifications posted like here on page 43. I don't think Music & Media continued posting certs after 1987.--Harout72 (talk) 14:41, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
Oh alright that's cool. Also not to mention, there's a missing cert of the single Mas que Nada by Sérgio Mendes feat. Black Eyed Peas certified Gold (50,000) in Brazil in 2009. Moh8213 (talk) 15:06, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
Pro-Música Brasil thresholds
Hi Harout72. I'm having some IPs contesting the certification levels for Brazil from {{certification Table Entry}}, so I looked back and found this discussion from last year. I notice we left some things open, specifically for international singles between 2013 and 2017, but certified later. Also, the discussion results were not fully integrated into Pro-Música Brasil, or at least are not clear. Do you have any new information? Also, do you think you could edit and make Pro-Música Brasil clearer so we have less arguments? Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 08:25, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Muhandes, ABPD was certainly operating by applying certifications based on release dates, at least I don't have any doubts about that until November 2017. While I don't have any new information on whether ProMusica Brasil applies their recent levels to all titles regardless of release date, I too believe that they might be certifying everything based on certification dates, not release dates. As I pointed out in that discussion you linked above, I believe ProMusica Brasil began this latter practice effective November 2017, which is when the earlier levels were no longer listed. As far as the international singles levels between 2013 and 2017, I'm quite certain, nothing was changed until November 2017. The levels remained at 30,000/60,000/250,000. I'll try to contact them via e-mail once again, the last time they didn't reply. BTW, I still apply Brazil's certification levels based on release dates at the List of best-selling music artists as I'm not 100% sure myself how to deal with this situations.
- Also, notice that Promusic Brasil recently issued certifications for George Michael's "Careless Whisper" and Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody", since Brazil didn't seem to issue certifications for singles in the '80s and '90s, I applied their recent certification levels to those singles. I believe that's what they done also, and it is highly possible that they treat all singles by applying the newer levels.
- If ProMusica Brasil doesn't reply my e-mail again, do you feel comfortable with beginning to apply their newer levels to all singles and albums effective November 2017?--Harout72 (talk) 12:52, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
- I find it hard to believe that they are bothering with release dates, especially for singles, where, as you noted, they did not have any thresholds until 2008. However, my belief is less important, and I think we should work by sources rather than beliefs. Lets hope they answer you this time, or we can find another source about it. --Muhandes (talk) 17:41, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
Missing certifications
Why France Silver. I need you France Gold [1] Australia Gold UK Silver.[2] I think these certifications are missing from your MJ's file. If so, any specific reason why they are left out?.— TheWikiholic (talk) 17:04, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

- The song " I Need You" isn't performed by Michael Jackson and cannot be included. As for "Why", I'll go over the certifications available for it and add them to my file and the list.--Harout72 (talk) 19:26, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Here’s a list of other certifications that I believe needs updating as it doesn’t appear in your files
- Black Or White (physical) UK silver
- Off the Wall, the album has certified six times platinum in the UK
- Off The Wall Austria platinum
- Thriller (album) Italy Platinum.— TheWikiholic (talk) 16:29, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
- Your source for Austria doesn't support any Platinum for Off the Wall. Also, your source for Italy doesn't support what's you;re saying. There is 3x Platinum for Thriller: 25th Anniversary Edition (150,000), that's already on my file. UK's updates are done. Make sure your sources work and support what you're stating. Neither one of your source including the UK's sources are functioning above.--Harout72 (talk) 17:31, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry for the confusion. Jackson's original Thriller album has certified platinum in Italy. Please check this link and put Thriller on the column Filtra and change the anno to tutti gli anni instead of 2021.— TheWikiholic (talk) 23:41, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Here we have a few more records that appear to also need adjusting. Please have a look.
- History Denmark 10 times platinum
- Invincible Denmark Platinum
- 18 Greatest Hits UK Platinum
- The collection Denmark 3 times platinum
- Thriller 25 Sweden Gold
- Bad 25 Japan Gold
- Michael Jacksons This is it DVD Netherlands two times Platinum
- Number One's DVD Argentina Platinum
- Video greatest Hits- History DVD Argentina Platinum
- The One DVD Argentina Platinum
- HIStory on Film, Volume II DVD Argentina Platinum

- Denmark: History: Past, Present & Future is already certified earlier 5x Platinum for 250,000 units, and it's on my file. IFPI Denmark has not re-certified it for higher levels of certifications, the 10x Platinum stands for 200,000 units. IFPI Denmark has been applying their most recent certification levels to all albums/singles regardless of release dates since mid 2012.
- Denmark: Invincible is certified as Gold (25,000 units), not Platinum, I'll add that.
- UK: 18 Greatest Hits: Normally we need to have more than 50% of the album performed by the said artist in order to include the certification. On this we have only 8 tracks by Michael as a solo, the rest of the tracks are released under Jackson 5.
- Japan: Bad 25, I can't see any certifications for it. See this RIAJ searchable database, type in (マイケルジャクソン) in the upper right corner and hit enter to bring up results.
- I'll add the rest.--Harout72 (talk) 06:32, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- 18 Greatest Hits (Michael Jackson album) was released as a Michael Jackson (that being the operative subject here) Compilation album. Why do we need to count the percentage of the tracks when the album has been released in the name of the artist, not the group? I'd agree with the 50% thing if it was released as a Jackson five compilation album, no questions asked, but it was Michael Jackson’s name that sold this particular album, not J5, or the Jacksons.— TheWikiholic (talk) 19:14, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- It says Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 on the album, and more than 50% is performed by Jackson 5. You're probably right that having Michael's name on the album is what pushed the sales.--Harout72 (talk) 19:46, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, it says Michael Jackson and Jackson 5, but the album was released as an MJ album. It was never released as an album by Jackson 5, even though they also have credited. Why should we calculate the percentage of the track when the whole album is released by the name of one artist?. Do we have a consensus or a policy to not use the certification of an album if the artist has not performed 50% of the tracks though it was released under them? Perhaps for various artist soundtracks, this may apply, but in this case? Maybe not. Either way, if the album is under J5/Jacksons, the certifications should be updated there.— TheWikiholic (talk) 05:19, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- That album has both Michael Jackon's and Jacksons Five's name, that's not just MJ album, the credit goes to both. This should be treated very much like a compilation album by MJ and Jackson 5. Based on the general rule, the certification should go to the one that has more than 50% of tracks performed. I have added that to my Jackons 5 file. I'll make an exception and add that to MJ's total also, only because he was part of the Jackson 5 and has 42% of the tracks as solo.--Harout72 (talk) 13:23, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- Harout, If you don't mind, can you please share the files of Michael Jackson, Drake, Rihanna, Lana Del Rey and Janet Jackson.— TheWikiholic (talk) 14:24, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

- Thriller 25 has been certified four-times platinum in Sweden, but it is only certified Gold in your file. Jackson's total single certifications are equal to 1.1 million in Japan. You miss calculated it as only 1 million. I look forward to the updates.— TheWikiholic (talk) 15:32, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
- The certifications of both Thriller and Thriller 25 are combined as one in Sweden, that's not a 4x Platinum for Thriller 25. The album Thriller 25 initially received Gold for 20,000 units when it was released for its 25 year anniversary ([here is "Thriller 25" on its 11th week on the chart), but quickly fell off the chart after 11 weeks. When Michael passed away, Thriller 25 came back on the chart reflecting original Thriller's 4x Platinum. The original Thriller has never re-entered the Swedish chart after 1988. But I will still keep the Gold that it initially received in 2008. As for Japan's singles total on my file, you're not supposed to count the Gold for "Beat It", just the Platinum, I have a note there in green as to how RIAJ combines the two formats when a Gold "Full R" format and/or "PC Format" are re-certified Platinum for present Single Track" format.--Harout72 (talk) 21:57, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

- Invincible Gold
- Michael Gold. TheWikiholic (talk) 19:32, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- The certifications on Music & Media can only be added if they're from Gold and Platinum page like the Gold for Bad on page 43 is. So far that's 90,000 certified units for Michael from Portugal. Note that I discovered that Portugal applies their recent certification levels to older albums when those albums released before May 2005 have or not have been certified. So I had to apply Gold (10,000) units to both "Thriller" and "Invincible" as it's unclear whether those two had already earned the Gold certification before May 2005.--Harout72 (talk) 20:39, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, "Thriller" is Platinum, I placed it on my file as Gold, so that's 100,000 units now. Good then I'll him too.--Harout72 (talk) 20:49, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- I found just 30,000 units.--Harout72 (talk) 19:07, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
Chris Brown's several missing certification.
Hello! Harout72, I received Chris Brown's detailed certified sales file last year from you. I think some of Chris Brown's record certification is missing.

Can you check if it's missing once? and could you send me the updated file again? Thank you. HeartbreakOnAFullMoon (talk) 09:58, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- The files of all artists are being updated everyday. Here is Chris Brown's file today. See if those certs are missing, let me know, but always ask for the updated version first.--Harout72 (talk) 12:56, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- I added all of the certs except the Swiss Gold certs as they were already on my file. Here is the updated version of the file.--Harout72 (talk) 14:07, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

I just checked the file you attached and searched if his record certification was missing. I think some song's certification are missing. Please update these list.
- Chris Brown - "Back to Sleep" - 2x Platinum (US). According to RIAA, RIAA put Tank, R. Kelly & Anthony Hamilton on that song's title. But they are just "Back to Sleep Remix" song's members. Back to Sleep was originally released as a solo song. After releasing this song, Chris released 3 official Back to Sleep remix (source). Also I remembered when "Back to Sleep" certified Gold and Platinum, it was credited as a solo song. I don't know why remix members on that song' certification. So I think this song needs to add up on sales.
- Chris Brown - "Back to Sleep" - Gold (New Zealand). (source); Set the date to March 14, 2016.
- Lil Dicky - "Freaky Friday (ft. Chris Brown)" - 4x Platinum (US). This song was recertified in February 26, 2020.
- Joyner Lucas & Chris Brown - "Stranger Things" - Gold (US). Chris Brown's name is missing.
- David Guetta - "I Can Only Imagine (ft. Chris Brown & Lil Wayne)" - Gold (Australia). (source); check out 2012 ARIA certification list.
- Benny Benassi & Chris Brown - "Paradise" - Silver (UK).
- Chris Brown - "New Flame (ft. Usher & Rick Ross)" - Silver (UK).
- Lil Dicky - "Freaky Friday (ft. Chris Brown)" - Platinum (Netherlands); Enter Freaky Friday in the "Artiest of titel" box.).
Thank you for updating Chris Brown's Sales.--HeartbreakOnAFullMoon (talk) 05:17, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- The US certification for "Back to Sleep" has four artists, therefore, it cannot be added. Only certifications for songs with maximum of three artists can be added. As for the Dutch cert, I added to my file, but the total for each market has to be at least 100,000 units to go on the list.--Harout72 (talk) 13:11, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
List of best-selling music artists
Hi Harout72, thank you for your reply on the List of best-selling music artists page concerning Justin Bieber's sales. I went over the file you attached in the reply. I have updated the said file and excluded songs that have host 4 artists and more as you mentioned. Multiple entries were not up-to-date based on latest certifications. I have researched and recounted them all and following are the newest figures:
1. US: 161,000,000 certified units (earlier 151,500,000)
2. UK: 28,645,000 certified units (earlier 29,245,000 - Miscalculation)
3. Germany: 5,600,000 certified units (earlier 5,000,000)
4. Canada: 8,240,000 certified units (earlier 8,100,000)
5. Australia: 7,455,000 certified units (earlier 7,280,000)
6. Brazil: 780,000 certified units (earlier 1,050,000 - Miscalculation)
7. Italy: 3,360,000 certified units (earlier 2,415,000)
8. Mexico: 4,380,000 certified units (earlier 3,990,000)
9. Belgium: 605,000 certified units (earlier 630,000 - Miscalculation)
10. Sweden: 2,360,000 certified units (earlier 2,260,000)
11. Spain: 1,720,000 certified units (earlier 1,040,000)
12. Denmark: 5,308,000 certified units (earlier 4,670,000)
13. New Zealand: 1,087,500 certified units (earlier 957,500)
14. Poland: 530,000 certified units (earlier 430,000)
15. France: 1,531,333 certified units (earlier 1,431,333)
16. Austria: 200,000 certified units (earlier 185,000)
I hope you can update these on Justin Bieber's section of List of best-selling music artists Wiki Page. I am also attaching a fresh document that contains these latest sales as evidence. Thanks a lot. Beemer03 (talk) 14:45, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- I cannot open your attachment. Please tell me in detail what's missing on the file for each market, one by one, song by song, certification by certification. Otherwise, no updates can be made.--Harout72 (talk) 14:57, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- I don't understand, the link should work. Try this one. Beemer03 (talk) 15:06, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- OK that works,
- Germany: You have wrong certification levels applied for Germany on songs "Boyfirend", "As Long As You Love Me", "Live My Life", "#that Power". Germany levels are here. But the total on my file should be 5.4 million, I have 400,000 units of miscalculation. I'll let you know about the rest later.--Harout72 (talk) 15:24, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Canada: CRIA former of Music Canada had lower certification levels for Digital Downloads earlier. I have notes next to the songs that have those lower levels. When Music Canada re-certifies those singles in the future, they will apply their current levels.--Harout72 (talk) 16:07, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Australia: The song "Fiends" has only Platinum in 2017, why do you have 2x Platinum? Where is the Platinum for "Monster" posted?--Harout72 (talk) 16:30, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- OK that works,
- Sorry I did not account for the older distribution on those songs for Germany. Each of those 4 songs have sold 150,000 units, so the total will add up to your estimate - 5.4 million.Beemer03 (talk) 16:30, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- For Australia, I referred to this document that shows the accreditation from 2017. It's given that "Friends" is 2X Platinum. About the Platinum status of "Monster", you can check this document, which shows accreditation for May 2021.Beemer03 (talk) 16:37, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Brazil: The earlier certification levels for albums are here. Their earlier certification levels for international singles are here, the international levels are posted below the singles table. Those levels were kept until November 2017.--Harout72 (talk) 17:01, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Can you give me some sales figures as examples? I tried to abide by both the latest and earlier certification levels, and ensured that all values coincided with "International Repertoire" sales. Beemer03 (talk) 17:19, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- See my file please for Brazil. Please follow my links I provided above for levels.--Harout72 (talk) 17:37, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification. After cross-checking with the Singles category, your Singles estimate is correct. However, I noticed that you have specified the Diamond certification level to be 250,000 for Albums. However, referring to the link you attached, this is applicable for releases "entre 01 de jan/2006 e 31 de dez/2009" or between that period. Justin Bieber did not release any material during this said period. Can you share some light on this? Beemer03 (talk) 17:47, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- The Album My World is released in November 2009. That's the one that ABPD has certified I believe, not the My Worlds: The Collection.--Harout72 (talk) 18:01, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Okay great, thanks. About Brazil, it seems that the cites “My Worlds” as the diamond certification recipient. Beemer03 (talk) 18:12, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry for the typing error, using my phone. The website claims that “My Worlds” is the recipient. It is a compilation album also referred to as the “My Worlds: The Collection”. Beemer03 (talk) 18:15, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- But "My Worlds: The Collection" has not charted well anywhere, how can it have earned Diamond there? I believe it's "My World" that's earned the Diamond there, which seems to have charted well everywhere. I think they've added the additional S by mistake.--Harout72 (talk) 18:31, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

- Italy: Please make sure you follow the certification levels for all markets, otherwise it's a waste of time for both of us. FIMI's certification levels are here.--Harout72 (talk) 17:05, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- That is exactly what I have done. There is absolutely no errors in the Singles category for Italian Certifications. If you go here and read the bullet point below the Singles table, it states that the newest certification levels apply regardless of release date. If there is any minor additions/deletion in the Album Category, I'm all for that. Beemer03 (talk) 17:25, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- I'm afraid you have not, certification levels are applied based on certification dates. Pay attention to the certification dates please. Whatever the certification levels were at the time when FIMI has certified any of the singles/albums, those are the levels you need to apply. You don't apply current FIMI's certification levels to singles that have been certified years ago. However, if earlier singles are re-certified by FIMI now, then FIMI will apply the current certification levels. Again, please refer to the wiki link.--Harout72 (talk) 17:34, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

- Belgium: I re-calculated everything, the total seems correct, 630,000.--Harout72 (talk) 18:08, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Sweden: For all singles released after January 2018, the levels are 40,000/80,000 for singles.--Harout72 (talk) 18:33, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Spain: The remix version of Despacito doesn't seem to have any certifications. It has last appeared on the Spanish chart on SEMANA 16: del 14.04.2017 al 20.04.2017. The certifications there are for the standard version, which doesn't feature Justin Bieber.--Harout72 (talk) 19:12, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Denmark: You have added certifications that are issued purely for Streaming. Those should be left out. Until mid November of 2014, IFPI Danmark had separate certifications for Streaming and for Digital Downloads. The certification for "Bad Guy" is for both versions, standard and remix, therefore, it should be left out.--Harout72 (talk) 19:36, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- New Zealand: The song "Company" is Platinum for 15,000 units, not 30,000. It was released before June 2016.--Harout72 (talk) 20:25, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi, thank you for updating Justin Bieber's Sales Section. Can you send me his sales Word Doc file that contains the latest changes, I wanted to keep a copy for future reference and edits. Thanks again. Beemer03 (talk) 06:26, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- Sure here it is.--Harout72 (talk) 12:40, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi, "Stay" is now certified Platinum in Australia for selling over 70,000 units (previously Gold). Here is a link for verification. Also, I was hoping you could verify another entry. This link shows that Despacito Remix is certified 12x Platinum in Spain for selling 480,000 units (A small icon on the upper right-hand corner). If you scroll to the remix version certification, it is reflected there as well. Kindly let me know what you think. Thanks. Beemer03 (talk) 08:16, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- Now, I'm beginning to think that www.elportaldemusica.es may not be as reliable as I initially thought. I see the 13x Platinum for standard version of "Despacito" posted on SEMANA 32: del 03.08.2018 al 09.08.2018 at https://www.promusicae.es/listas/semanales which matches this. But the remix version was so unpopular in Spain, that it stayed there on charts for one week only. It only appeared on SEMANA 16: del 14.04.2017 al 20.04.2017, the following week it was gone off the charts. Or perhaps they combined all versions, the certifications are for all version. It says here, the remix version has stayed on the chart for 42 weeks, when I see it having spent only one week there. I'm not sure what to make of it honestly.--Harout72 (talk) 12:51, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- No problem, thanks for looking it up. I mentioned an update on "Stay"'s Platinum certification in Australia. If you could update that, it would be great. Beemer03 (talk) 15:00, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi, just an update - "Stay" is now certified Gold in New Zealand for selling over 15,000 units. Here is a link for verification.--Beemer03 (talk) 04:24, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- I update Australian, New Zealand, Swedish and Spanish certs on the weekends. I normally don't miss anything, but after a few days into the week, if you don't see the updates, you can inform me about them then, thanks.--Harout72 (talk) 04:30, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi, yeah that is no problem at all. Thanks for adding the entries. You missed out on "Anyone"'s Swedish Platinum certification (previously it was not specified in JB's sales document) for selling 80,000 units. Here is the link. I calculated the cumulative for Swedish sales and it adds up to 2.68 million. Kindly update this. Thanks. --Beemer03 (talk) 04:36, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi, wanted to share an update - "Stay" is now certified Silver in the UK for selling over 200,000 units. Justice is certified Gold for selling 100,000 units in the UK (previously Silver). Also wanted to update you that I recalculated the cumulative for Justin Bieber's UK Singles sales and it looks like there is a tiny error in your total (for singles only). The latest for singles should come out to be 26,400,000. This figure includes "Gas Pedal" (Sage The Gemini feat. Iamsu and Justin Bieber) which was also certified Silver, but somehow not mentioned on his certified sales doc (Search the keyword as "Bieber" to find out). The final aggregate including album, singles and videos should come out as 28,885,000. Kindly make the change. Thanks. --Beemer03 (talk) 19:05, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- The total for singles seems to be correct (27,200,000 units) including the "Gas Pedal". Here is the updated file. Calculate the awards separately. Multiply the number of the Silver awards first, then Gold and so on. I know how confusing it can be when dealing with too many numbers. Every time I have too many awards for an artist, I multiply awards first, then add them to each other.--Harout72 (talk) 22:00, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hey, I cross-checked with your sales figures and it turns out I had not accounted for "Company"'s Gold certification. Other than that, I think I have figured out the discrepancy in the sales figures. The song "Cold Water" is 2x Platinum in the UK, hence the figure should be 1.2 million units, but your doc reflects it as 1.8 million units. The total singles count should now come out to be 26,600,000 and the overall sales count should be 29,085,000. Just wanted to let you know. --Beemer03 (talk) 05:49, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi Harout72, just wanted to share an update. "Stay" is now certified Gold in Portugal for selling 5,000 units. "What Do You Mean?" is certified 4x Platinum in the UK for selling 2,400,000 units. Thanks. --Beemer03 (talk) 15:47, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Beemer03, I need to ask you for a favor. Since I always update the certifications for all markets, you should only notify me when I have updated the certifications for all artist and missed Bieber's certs. Otherwise it's pointless to notify me about the newly posted certification by certifying bodies, when I haven't even had the chance to go over them. Thanks.--Harout72 (talk) 18:43, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
Hi, yes I understand. I simply try to ensure that no eligible certifications are missed out, hence I inform you beforehand. I’m sorry for the inconvenience caused, I’ll notify you in case you miss something after updating each market. Beemer03 (talk) 07:16, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

Nirvana - Nevermind -2x Platinum in Poland
Hi, can you give me a source or link for Nirvana's Nevermind reissue being certified 2x platinum in Poland ? Thanks.QuintusPetillius (talk) 13:29, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- The recent 2x Platinum is released on Geffen/Universal Music PL, while the original Platinum certified in 1999 for 100,000 units is released on BMG. They're two separate issues.--Harout72 (talk) 15:01, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I understand that but do you have a verifiable source for the recent Nevermind certification ? QuintusPetillius (talk) 15:09, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
- It's on ZPAV's site.--Harout72 (talk) 15:34, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I understand that but do you have a verifiable source for the recent Nevermind certification ? QuintusPetillius (talk) 15:09, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
OneRepublic
Hi Harout. Do you know and have their certifications, and how much they would have to be included if so? --Apoxyomenus (talk) 14:44, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, no I haven't gone over their certified sales. Is there a reliable source that claims 75 million records for them? If there is one, their certified sales should be somewhere around 125-130 million in order for us to consider them. Because all of their recent few years of certifications should be Streaming generated.--Harout72 (talk) 15:28, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- Not actually. I'll research about a claim. Regards, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 16:53, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Justin Bieber's Polish Sales
Hi Harout72, I think you missed two certifications for Justin Bieber's Polish sales. Jack Ü's "Where Are Ü Now" is certified Platinum (for selling 20,000 units), which features Bieber. Major Lazer's "Cold Water" is certified Gold (for selling 10,000 units), which also features Bieber. Kindly update this. Thanks. --Beemer03 (talk) 02:16, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
