How to develop your skills here

To be fair, I think you have a user name that will limit you. My suggestion is to find a non work-related user name and either abandon this one or go to WP:CHU and change it, otherwise you will always be "That CoverMore guy." This is not mandatory, just worthy of serious consideration.

Before creating more new articles it is no bad thing to edit a few existing articles. Have a look at WP:SUGGESTBOT, which will suggest articles you might like to edit. It tells you how to set it up. YOu can turn it on and off to your heart's content. When you look at an article, look at it with a critical eye. See what is excellent, what is simply good, and what is poor. At first make small edits, with edit summaries, to improve the poor things. This may be something very useful like finding and adding a citation, or it may be a simple grammar correction.

In other words, feel your way.

You may find User:Timtrent/A good article a useful read. I hope so.

If you want to leap in and create a new article, do it anyway, before the CoverMore one is even finally accepted. Learn with two at once, why not? The creation of new articles is the hardest skill to learn, yet is the one new editors always want to start with. And do continue to improve the CoverMore one. The references on pretty much any article need improvement. Look for ones for all that you create that meet all these criteria:

  • are significant coverage, and are
  • about the topic of the article, and are
  • independent of it, and in WP:RS

Reading WP:42 encapsulates this in a nutshell.

If you would like advice, many of us will give that to you. If we don't know then we can usually find a way to help you find out. If you would like some help from me please ask me directly on my talk page. Other good sources are to ask at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions. Fiddle Faddle 08:14, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, GB at CoverMore. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Cover-More Travel Insurance".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13. An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 18:34, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
