Bad Form
It is really bad form to delete other editors posts from discussion pages like you did here [[1]] If you feel the urge to do so again, kindly cite what Wiki policy you are following. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.193.240.57 (talk) 21:53, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- The relevant policy and guideline are WP:NOTFORUM
- "bear in mind that talk pages exist for the purpose of discussing how to improve articles; they are not mere general discussion pages about the subject of the article"
- and WP:TALK
- "Keep on topic: Talk pages are for discussing the article, not for general conversation about the article's subject (much less other subjects). Keep discussions on the topic of how to improve the associated article. Irrelevant discussions are subject to removal."
- "Do not use the talk page as a forum or soapbox for discussing the topic. The talk page is for discussing improving the article."
- The thread I removed did not concern improving the article. --Dominic Hardstaff (talk) 14:07, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
Menngagde
How can I refer people to the teachings of the only existing published translations of Menngagde in any language? Shouldn't this be a key part of the page as all other information about Menngagde on the Wikipedia page is hearsay and interpretation rather than the actual opportunity to directly experience the actual Menngagde texts translated by an authorized teacher of Menngagde? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chebsum (talk • contribs) 20:15, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- If you're referring to my reversal of this edit, I will point out that here are many qualified teachers of many subjects. Wikipedia does not, on the whole, allow them to use articles to advertise their services. See here for more on this, particularly section 4 on self-promotion. Thanks. --Dominic Hardstaff (talk) 20:28, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
John Goodman
Not sure who to ask a question but i have posted a confirmed roll on the john goodman page and you accused me of vandalism it was announced that it is in development for an hbo original film —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.128.56.210 (talk) 06:59, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- I have no idea what you're talking about. I have not edited the article on John Goodman in recent memory, and have left no messages at your talk page. --Dominic Hardstaff (talk) 09:47, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
I need some help
Hello. Well, my problem is that I keep trying to insert some links for my website into Wikipedia, but they are always deleted. Though I understand the perils of everybody putting their links here, my site is just an educational one, with no commercial intentions, and I do believe it has some good maps. Maybe you should take a look at it before deleting the links. I proposed it on the discussion pages of U.S. and China (for which it has special sections) but nobody answered. So what should I do? I also want to put the entire set of maps in Wikipedia Commons? Is it possible to do that? I just want people to see my work, and developing my own website gave me far greater freedom than Wikipedia would have done (that's why I'm not a Wikipedia contributor). Thank you for your time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ionut Cojocaru (talk) 10:00, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Just cause
Hello friend, I've been perusing around the wiki when I saw your user name. Is your first name really Dominic? If you read the first line of my user page you will notice mine is! Just wondering. :-} NYMFan69-86 (talk) 00:59, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
