Speedy deletion nomination of Debt Advice Foundation
A tag has been placed on Debt Advice Foundation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of Debt Advice Foundation and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 09:10, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Debt Advice Foundation Hi Richard, you have put a marker for deletion on the DAF page. DAF are a debt education charity who provide books to schools. They have been around since 2002 and the purpose of the page will be to inform people that help and free books will be available to anyone regardless of their financial status. A government minister and a member of Parliament are active supporters of this cause.
I would direct you to similar organisations such as the CCCS and Christians Against Poverty. I would also suggest this is more encyclopaedic than pages such as Brake, Bottletop and Sparkle which I note are also charities.
If you have any advice for me I'd be really grateful to hear it.

- Okay, can you provide a reliable third-party source attesting that the organization meets our minimal notability requirements? Please do not confuse nobility for notability. These are very different things. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 09:26, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- You claim that in your article "There is no advertising involved." But the language that I see you used in the article is 100% promotional. That you are doing it for a good cause changes nothing. That you haven't posted any contact information changes nothing either. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 09:39, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi Richard, I posted our charity number on the page and links to two recent newspaper stories about our meetings with a government minister and a member of Parliament. I take your point about nobility v notability but there are far smaller and more obscure organisations on here. Would some older media stories help? The text of the page is our aims and objectives as lodged with the charity commission. Its a mission statement, i can remove some of them if that helps -Any advice welcome. Debtadvicefoundation (talk) 09:50, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, I have removed the promotional material as well as my deletion tag. But please be aware that mission statements are frowned on in Wikipedia: the only way you can state one is by showing how your goals have been achieved in the past - which is pretty much what your article says right now. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 10:02, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Please change my name
Decline reason:
First, merely changing your name is not sufficient: you've been spamming on behalf of an organization, in direct violation of our rules on conflict of interest. If this is your sole goal on Wikipedia, it's probably best if you remain blocked, but you can be unblocked if in addition to changing your username, you agree to follow the strict rules described at WP:BESTCOI regarding any edits about the foundation. Second, we can't just change your username, you have to pick the new username you want; see Special:Listusers for a way to search for available usernames. Mangojuicetalk 13:19, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
