You're not Chaldean. You are an Assyrian nationalist and I can tell due to your editing styles. You are most likely an Assyrian that follows the Chaldean Church. IP block exempt

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption.

If you still have problems, cut-and-paste the block message you're getting, with another unblock request, and I or another admin will have another look. —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 19:19, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic football teams in Finland

There are a few ethnic clubs in Finland but nothing like the number in Sweden. I provide a list below but it is not comprehensive. Clubs in the lower divisions come and go very quickly - making it hard to keep track!

FC Kurd - http://fckurdistan.nettisivu.org/ - a Division 5 club from Jyväskylä
FC Bosna - http://www.fcbosna.webs.com/ - a Division 5 club from Turku
SAYKUS (Suomi-Arabia Ystävyys, Kulttuuri ja Urheilu Seura) http://saykus.blogspot.com/ - a Division 5 club from Helsinki
FC Persia - http://anjoman.fi/futsal/ - from Turku (were a Division 6 club)
FC Komar Kurdistan - http://www.fckomar.net/ - a Division 6 club from Turku
KF Kosova - http://www.bashkimi-ry.fi/finish/kfkosovo.htm - club from Turku

FC Nations United - http://www.fcnationsunited.com/ - a Division 5 club from Turku that contains a mix of nationalities

Turku seems to have the most ethnic clubs - see Turku SPL as a source - http://www.resultcode.fi/sarjat/piirin_seurat_nayta.php?piiri_id=100004

Sorry I cannot identify any Assyrian/Syriac teams - not even in Oulu!

Kind regards

Hello

Hi Chaldean, I'm posting this message on your talk page because I noticed that you've recently created the new article List of Assyrian-Syriac football teams in Sweden--However, I noticed there are some holes that may need filling: the article currently does not contain enough references. As a new article, the most important thing is to find reliable references for all existing information. It would be great if you could also clean-up the related article West Division (NHL).

It's nice to see you editing! Jipinghe (talk) 00:14, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. I'll get to work. Chaldean (talk) 07:58, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help

Hi my Assyrian friend, I would like to ask you if you have (or you know a place wher I can find one) a relevant ethnic map of Iraq, which I can use to make an ethnic map of the distribution of Assyrians by districts (smallest administrative unit) of Iraq.

I found one on Columbia University website about the Middle east - http://gulf2000.columbia.edu/images/maps/Iraq_Ethnic_lg.jpg

Do you think this is a good one and shows all the areas where Christian Assyrians live??? If no, if it's possible, please, give me a link to another more accurate map.

Thank you. Yerevanci, an Armenian interested on Assyrian modern hisotry. --Yerevanci (talk) 01:32, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So the area of so-called "Iraqi Kurdistan" (except Kirkuk) is pretty much accurate???
I just want to make a map for that part, not for the area outside of Assyrian homeland, like near Baghdad, because if an Assyrian autonomy will ever be realized it won't include Baghdad. --Yerevanci (talk) 22:34, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, please if it's not hard for you, please let me see.--Yerevanci (talk) 23:17, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sure. . --Yerevanci (talk) 22:17, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's OK. And thank you very much. --Yerevanci (talk) 23:58, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, I'm trying to clean up the Assyrian independence and also I made a new article called Proposals for an Assyrian autonomy or state. And I would like to ask you contirbute in anyway if you can. Also, I have a question for you. Is it true that most current Assyrian autonomy/state proposals include the Shekhan, Al-Hamdaniya, Tel Keppe districts of Ninawa Governorate of Iraq?? If yes, are there any political/civil movements supporting this idea?? I had concluded to this by doing some online and found some non-professional pictures like this without any source:

I understand that these aren't based on anything, but are there any such proposals??--Yerevanci (talk) 00:12, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I really appreciate your answer. It was really helpful. Thank you.--Yerevanci (talk) 22:08, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, I'm trying to make a map that would fit for the 19th governorate. So, you had said that Akre is now part of Dohuk governorate. Do you mean that all the administrative maps of Iraq are old?? And could you please tell when did that happen?? Also, are there any proposals for the name of a new governorate??? Or it's just proposed to be the "19th governorate"??--Yerevanci (talk) 17:18, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Sorry for popping u uninvited in Chaldean's talk page but I think I might help with few issues here. Akre is de facto part of the KRG but the final situation is yet to be decided as the central government still considers it part of Nineveh. If anybody have ideas for new maps I can help by creating SVG versions of them. Regards.--Rafy talk 19:35, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Maslawi for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Maslawi is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Maslawi until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Epeefleche (talk) 23:04, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Iraq

Hi Chaldean, hope you're well. Happy New Year to you and also a belated Happy Christmas if you celebrate. Thanks for the barnstar - much appreciated! Just had a spurt of Wikipedia editing after lull for a couple of years. Still focussing on Iraq, but tempted to branch out towards Syria, given the inevitably large number of opposition politicians there that are currently little known but could become important! How about you, working on anything exciting? AndrewRT(Talk) 23:15, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The district maps sound interesting - would you like some help with that? I've got inkscape whcih is quite good at doing the coloured location maps used elsewhere. I meant to say - yes I've seen Musings before - great site, lots of good quality stuff on there. AndrewRT(Talk) 22:35, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chaldean. Could I just check with you - this map here: File:Assyrian_autonomy_map_2003.jpg has an AINA watermark on it but was uploaded as GDFL. Do you know if AINA has given permission to reuse their map like this? Thanks AndrewRT(Talk) 20:36, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Brilliant - thanks. I'll check whether this should be submitted to OTRS, in case someone else asks too. Nice as a precedent too, because I'm sure AINA has some great photos we could use! AndrewRT(Talk) 15:16, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Football seasons in Iraq requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it must be substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by visiting the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:Assyrian autonomy map 2003.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Assyrian autonomy map 2003.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:57, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Indepdent syriac movement.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Indepdent syriac movement.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Dear Chaldean

I'm a new wikipedia user and I'm deeply interested in Middle East recent History. I'm sorry to bother you, but I have some doubts concerning non-muslim minorities in Iraq. I'm sorry to hear that this communities have been suffering greatly for decades and their suffering hasn't ended. I'm specially puzzled by the constant and undisputed assumption that Saddam Hussein's regime was secular. The question I'd like to ask is: ¿To which extent was there religious freedom for Chaldeans under Saddam Hussein (public demonstrations of faith, state proselitism and pressure for conversion etc)? Thanks in advance and sorry for disturbing you.--John Caves Goldenbear (talk) 10:48, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Again, per WP:SPS, forum sites where anyone can add, comment and upload are not a reliable reference.

Your comment of " if you could read arabic you'd see that they are articles from the Iraqi High Electoral Commission" is not true. I can clearly read what is on the forum posts and they are not from the 'Iraqi High Electoral Commission'. They are all posted by members of the Akawara.com site. Where does it even say "Iraqi High Electoral Commission" in this and this post. It does say they were posted by Musharraf, whose profile doesn't list any connection to anyone or any identification such as email, website or anything else.

Also, external links only have one brace, not two... [http://www.ankawa.com/forum]. Bgwhite (talk) 07:21, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article "Kurdish Christians"

Hi Chaldean,

you made some comments in the talk page of said article whereby you make the point that the article or its subject is prone to factual distortion. I've done my best to alter that, notably the failure to distinguish between Assyrians and Kurds, although the article seems prone to edit warring with regards to this as well as not adhering to Wikipedia's core content policies with regards to Original Research and Verifiability. Should you find the article in such a state of careless editing, feel free to edit it and perhaps add a comment in the talk page. I'm mainly making this comment here because I don't personally edit regularly on Wikipedia (I find the constant edit warring rather time consuming and simply irritating), I just did so now because I noticed blatant factual errors; so I thought I'd notify you because you seem to have an interest in the subject. 81.229.176.77 (talk) 18:25, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Klodia Hanna

The article Klodia Hanna has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable beauty pageant winner. No independent refs. There is an arabic wiki article, which appears not to contain any refs worth stealing.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi Chaldean! As a Steward I'm involved in the upcoming unification of all accounts organized by the Wikimedia Foundation (see m:Single User Login finalisation announcement). By looking at your account, I realized that you don't have a global account yet. In order to secure your name, I recommend you to create such account on your own by submitting your password on Special:MergeAccount and unifying your local accounts. If you have any problems with doing that or further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 11:29, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! You may or may not be aware that this article has been listed at WP:copyright problems since 2 April 2015. However, as far as I can see you were never formally notified of that, as you should have been, so I have relisted it under today's date; it will be listed for at least a week. You are welcome to work on a rewrite during that time. As I'm sure you know, it will need some reliable sources in order to survive at AfD; as I'm sure you also know, there's no obligation for those sources to be in English. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Tesqopa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page NPO. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:27, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Orphaned map.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Basic Wikipedia editing competency

Having looked at your recent election-related edits and seen the numerous basic errors, I was very surprised to find out that you have been editing for so long. You really need to learn to format references – external links do not have two square brackets ([[ ]]), they only require one. Also, online forums are not acceptable references for articles on Wikipedia. Please ensure that you no longer continue to make these basic errors. Thanks, Number 57 22:24, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I see that these issues were raised with you five years ago. This is concerning. Number 57 22:25, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Wikipedia has changed in terms of coding many times over the decade I've worked on pages. So no need to point that out. We have other people who have different cause, and clean up any miscoding that I make. Regarding your enquiry about ankawa.com - this is a problem that I do not know how to solve. The website is the number one (and the only one) trusted Assyrian news website..however since it's so old (2000), it has not changed its format of starting as a forum. However, it is NOT a forum page, as it is a certified news agency in the KRG. Chaldean (talk) 18:42, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No, it hasn't changed in that time – I've been editing since 2005 and external links have never been linked by [[ ]]. In fact in your very first edit in 2006 you added an external link correctly with single parentheses. This does need to be pointed out and I've no idea why you've made this dubious claim rather than taking the advice on board. Number 57 20:05, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Ammobabaold2.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Ammobabaold2.jpg, which you've attributed to zindamagazine.com. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged.
