AEW images

Hi. Thanks for uploading AEW images. The quality is very good. Do you want to upload more images? Because articles like Athena, Billie Starkz, Hikaru Shida, and some others need better infobox images too. Regards. --Mann Mann (talk) 14:37, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mann Mann,
I don't have unlimited access to AEW photography, the situation is more that I can get a decent amount on occasion. Secondly, I think it's good to have a diversity of sources and that we continue to encourage independent photographers to contribute; being dependent on one source is putting our eggs all in one basket, and often times Independent photographers are able to create much more vivid images than ones in front of a backdrop. Thirdly, I actuality think pages like Billie Starkz and Hikaru Shida have fantastic main images currently, I don't think they need to be replaced. Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Keffals. Citing The Young Turks for the claim that someone was or was not victim to domestic violence or may or may not have comitted fraud is a gross WP:BLP violation. Please don't do that again. --Licks-rocks (talk) 15:02, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I consulted Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources before the edit; there was no discussion of The Young Turks one way or around to cross-reference. It was not a feckless edit made with no concern for BLP rules. CeltBrowne (talk) 15:52, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
WP:BLP states that material must be sourced to reliable sources. For the future, if a source isn't listed on WP:RSP, and isn't mentioned in the noticeboard archives to any real extent, that's not necessarily an endorsement, it just means nobody has taken a proper look at it yet and discussed the results. RSP just lists the sources that come up a lot. Additionally, a claim like the one made by the young Turks there requires extremely strong sourcing, because it's a really strong claim, one that borders on being slander if it turns out not to be true, even. For that kind of claim we want to see at least some seriously reliable secondary sources picking it up before we can repeat it. If no (solid) secondary sources picked it up, assume Wikipedia won't want to either. --Licks-rocks (talk) 20:50, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Altamont Free Concert

Hello. Please note I reverted your edit on Altamont Free Concert. You seem to have removed the majority of the page, including the short description, info box, plenty of sourced content - was this a mistake? OXYLYPSE (talk) 12:34, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As I've now noted in another edit, the edit was affected by a browser glitch/my browser freezing. What should have been an "edit section" edit became the entire article. Thank you for correcting it. CeltBrowne (talk) 12:36, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, just saw the edit description :) OXYLYPSE (talk) 12:37, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Destiny_(streamer),_June_2022.png" is AI-generated and shouldn't be used on his bio page

You did upload this image a while ago and didn't properly mark it. Posting this here as a heads-up. Not assuming ill intent. This image which was marked as an actual photograph of "Bonnell in 2022" had been in use on his bio page since January 2024. Here's the revision page where it got added to the bio page: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Destiny_%28streamer%29&diff=prev&oldid=1201446925

We need better protection against AI-generated images. Especially on bio pages ...

Image in question:

-- Mrmaffen (talk) 01:22, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The image is not AI generated, it's been upscaled, there's a distinct difference between the two. It's a real image derived from a real video. The image had to be upscaled because the source quality and resolution were too low for for Wikipedia. CeltBrowne (talk) 07:53, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but that's simply not enough to revert those changes. Where is the original image? Why is there no mention of the fact that this image has been upscaled with AI algorithms even now? The source YT video mentioned is no longer available. Of course every AI-checker tool is certain that this is just an AI-generated image. There's no way to differentiate here between fully AI-generated and upscaled. I've invested quite a bit of time to check the validity. Imagine how many people just see this, can tell that it's not real and find no mention of this fact anywhere.
Even assuming this is just an upscaled version of an original image, the quality of the upscale is horrible. Look at the eyes. It should be obvious to anyone looking at the "photo" that this isn't real. This hurts Wikipedia's credibility. It undermines trust. With good reason.
Post the original photo if you can find it. Cite the source with a working link and a proper time stamp. Not just a yt video link. The original needs to be directly available if the use of AI algorithms is this obvious. The use of AI-upscaling tools needs to be declared to the viewer.

I can only assume you have something else going on right now and are taking it out on CeltBrowne. Relax, it's only an image! OXYLYPSE (talk) 20:24, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately it's not just one image. I'm sure CeltBrowne is a wonderful person, but he/she uploaded tons of bio images. I saw others that were altered by AI algorithms. None of the ones I saw were marked as such. This is a problem. Don't take any of this personal. I just have a principled stance on such things since I am aware of the size of the problem.
We need more awareness. Mrmaffen (talk) 00:58, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Revert from Ivana Bacik

Hi @CeltBrowne just about this revision could you clarify what you mean?

The source was only added to include the "high media profile" sentence in the historical edits not her abortion campaigning which is why I removed the source as well as the sentence, hence I didn't feel the need to provide a new source since her campaigning is already quite well sourced. Hi, should I change the page 'Irish Communist Party', a breakaway party from the Communist Party of Ireland to this?

Here is the draft for the party

User:AlienBlox_the_Great/Drafts/Irish_Communist_Party AlienBlox the Great (talk) 20:03, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No, because you don't have any reliable secondary sources cited CeltBrowne (talk) 01:31, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok let me find some AlienBlox the Great (talk) 14:49, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I added the sources (Primary and secondary) AlienBlox the Great (talk) 15:21, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Gript is a questionable at best source
The Electoral Commission source doesn't mention anything about the subject of the article.
I'm going to save you some time; It's highly unlikely you'll be able to find enough reliable secondary sources discussing them because they're not very high profile at all. CeltBrowne (talk) 15:47, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The electoral register refers to checking the party the party can't be in elections and I will change the Gript one to something else when I find the source AlienBlox the Great (talk) 16:12, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Changed to the Irish Left Archive instead AlienBlox the Great (talk) 16:25, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
