If I left a message on your talk page, please reply there (unless I've requested otherwise), and it would help if you ping me too or place {{subst:mytalk}} on this page, or something similar. I will watch your page and reply as soon as I can. If you leave a message here, I will answer it here. I will ping you when I reply. This way, it is less confusing for everyone, and entire threads of conversations can be referred to by others. |
How do I "ping"?: Just type "{{ping|BurritoBazooka}}" as part of your message you are leaving on a different page.
How do I "talkback"?: After posting your message addressed to me on a different page, you edit this page and insert the text "{{subst:mytalk}}".
Which one do I do?: Either. Doesn't matter. I personally find ping much easier, and think you would too.
What? I don't understand any of this. Okay. Just post here, it's fine. If you have any questions not relevant to your message, feel free to ask that too, and I'll try to answer them.
Why must this be so difficult? This is like no other forum service. Wikimedia Foundation are in the process of solving this problem with a project they call Flow.
Welcome

Hello, I'm McGeddon. Your recent edit to the page Universal Serial Bus appears to have added incorrect information, so I removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 16:16, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

UV POV Dispute resolution
Hi, I can't find anything in the noticeboard about the dispute resolution you filed (Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Talk:UltraViolet_(system)). Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
But instead of filing a dispute about a POV tag, why don't you just create a new Criticism section in the UltraViolet article, starting with a few key points (again, feel free to take them from my UV FAQ page as a published source). And then through the magic of Wikipedia, I'm sure others will jump in and add details. JimTheFrog (talk) 00:14, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

D: Help
I'm trying to edit a table, and seem to have encountered a problem regarding the placement of some text into a specific cell. See the annotated screenshot for more information:
http://i.imgur.com/ioT2LYY.png
This is the page where the table is currently located (it's the lower table):
I've used the visual editor on the table, so it may be a bug related to that. The characters "||" don't seperate the cell, and appear in plaintext in the interpreted version of the article..
Thank you in advance :) --BurritoBazooka (talk) 23:05, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- Fixed -- Diannaa (talk) 23:18, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- There was a line break which didn't belong, and unlike most wiki-code tables react to that. The VisualEditor to my knowledge has some issues with tables; unless that has been fixed I wouldn't use it for this purpose. Huon (talk) 23:21, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
Opting in to VisualEditor
As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 50 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable
". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 20:11, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Burrito Bazooka, 108.6.10.77 here. You reverted my edit of the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court from Democratic Party to Republican Party. You are entirely correct. I forgot that Chief Justice Roberts makes those appointments to FISC, not Obama -- among the rarest of exceptions to presidential appointments of federal judges. Thank you for the correction.
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Location map projections
You should not create location maps with projections other than equirectangular unless you know the formulas to map coordinates to points. Using the built-in equirectangular formulas for a non-equirectangular map, like you did on Module:Location map/data/County Dublin, will cause an unacceptable level of inaccuracy. Please either use the proper formulas, replace the map with an equirectangular one, or request that the map be deleted. Jackmcbarn (talk) 22:46, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
- User:Jackmcbarn: Thanks for raising your concerns. I'm in the process of figuring out Kartograph.py (so far I'm successful), and will put an equirectangular map up soon. --BurritoBazooka (talk) 00:19, 7 December 2015 (UTC)

Could you please revert the current version of the ISIL Flag to your own, correct, version? There's an edit war going on with users unknowingly reverting to the incorrect versions that have SVG transparency on the seal. --Coconaut (talk) 15:00, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Coconaut: Whatever version ends up being normalised, I'll remove the transparency from it. I have no idea which one is more correct (except for the transparency issue), and have no opinion in the matter. --BurritoBazooka (talk) 17:26, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

HI BurritoBazooka
Thanks for helping me today I think what you have done is correct. There is no way I can think of that the Sumerians could have measured the elevation angle to the stars better than about 4 pr 5 minutes of arc. This would have given them an accuracy of about 1 percent in the circumference of the earth.
The professors who rejected my paper for using the value of 2 cubits = 994 mm were either a little bit nuts or they know something we don't . I would have accepted 1.00 meters but they did not give me a chance Thanks againRoland Boucher (talk) 23:52, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
PHP.net links working?
Hi.
Do PHP.net links work for you over HTTPS? I have problems on my end. Just wanted to know if it is me or the article's link.
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 13:50, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Codename Lisa: It works for me. It redirects me to https://secure.php.net/ which only accepts HTTPS connections, and any HTTP connections to that domain get changed to HTTPS ones. I use Firefox 43.0.4 on SolydX which is based on Debian Stretch (Testing). Works in Chrome 47.0.2526.111 as well, and my Android phone with Firefox. --BurritoBazooka (talk) 16:01, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks. Sorry if my reversion was problematic. I often forget that when I check a link, the effect that I see might be restricted to me. (Well, to be fair, most of the times it isn't; when I see a dead, broken, or stale link, it is most often the case for the whole world.) Because of health problems, I probably won't be watching that article anymore.
- Best regards,
- Codename Lisa (talk) 11:36, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Codename Lisa: okay, it wasn't really problematic. I half expected someone to revert it if it wasn't working for them, and I assumed it would work for everyone if nobody reverted. I wasn't aware of MOS:WEBADDR or that protocol-relative URLs worked on Wikipedia. While doing the HTTP -> HTTPS conversion, I tested a few links and the ones that didn't work, also didn't work in HTTP (they were dead either way). There were two of those. That is why I partially undid your reversion, but I left the "http" ones alone for now, seeing as "https" might not work for some people.
- So, thanks for watching the article and the reversion. --BurritoBazooka (talk) 16:36, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for the information. The information which was supplied indicated Canadian reference in English and subsequently the Moldova reference in Romanian which made the base of the English reference. For your info in this case the English reference was: Canada Gazette: http://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2013/2013-08-31/html/gh-rg-eng.html based on Moldova reference: http://www.ssmexpert.md/_ld/50/5062_212-215_12_10_2.pdf. Hi,
Thank you for your answer. The English reference was: Canada Gazette: http://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2013/2013-08-31/html/gh-rg-eng.html self explanatory Civic merit based on Moldovan reference: http://www.ssmexpert.md/_ld/50/5062_212-215_12_10_2.pdf. There are more information required? Ceechisu (talk) 17:19, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Ceechisu: The second link isn't working for me, the server at ssmexpert.md isn't responding quickly enough. I'll try again tomorrow. As User:EncyclopediaUpdaticus said on your talk page, all that s/he wants is a translation from the Moldovan, as a quote in the reference. If the server responded, I would have used a machine translator and added the quote myself. --BurritoBazooka (talk) 20:58, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for your understanding.

Source?
Can you tell me what 'Source' means? XxServerHosterxX (talk) 18:42, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- @XxServerHosterxX: The encyclopaedia's collection of facts must be backed up by sources (such as books, news articles, other websites, scientific studies, etc, which verify these facts), otherwise anyone would be able to add things they suck out of their thumbs to Wikipedia (which falls under 'original research'). There is an in-depth explanation to why referencing is needed on Wikipedia here. Referencing sources will be very familiar to most who have completed a college course (or some secondary school courses). Hope that helps. If you struggle citing a source in the article, just put it on this page as a raw URL and I'll do it.
- I've found some sources saying that Crossrail will carry some TFL Rail trains between some stations in May 2017, but I've found no source saying that Crossrail's name will be changed at that date, for example... --BurritoBazooka TalkContribs 18:49, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Furthermore, the following source used in the article disagrees with that premise, stating clearly that the line will be renamed in December 2018: http://www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/crossrail-named-the-elizabeth-line-royal-title-unveiled-as-the-queen-visits-bond-street-a3186791.html "route will officially become the Elizabeth line when trains start running through central London in December 2018" --BurritoBazooka TalkContribs 19:51, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
