SON YOUR CAR MAP GOT FEATURED IN GEOGRAPHY NOW!
The title says it all. Fucking chadman, I love you non-platonically. BlookyNapsta (talk) 14:48, 11 July 2020 (UTC)
- Ohh OK. That's cool. Borysk5 (talk) 14:53, 11 July 2020 (UTC)
≥==Small request== Heya, was wondering if you could make a template map of the insurgency in Cabo Delgado. It's been itching me off concerning the lack of template maps for such a further-unfolding conflict. BlookyNapsta (talk) 23:35, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- I don't think it's necessary considering that insurgents so far control only one or two cities. You can easily make a map without a template. Maybe if they capture bigger areas it would make sense. Borysk5 (talk) 07:12, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- Alright, maybe it would be much appreciated if you could make a better-looking map of the conflict based on what i've gathered here. Thanks in advance.
BlookyNapsta (talk) 05:48, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- I'm currently only on mobile, so I can't really make maps. This map seems limited since for example insurgents captured Macomia at some point. I like this map of affected areas: https://www.polgeonow.com/2020/08/northern-mozambique-isis-crisis-control-map-2020.html?m=1. Borysk5 (talk) 05:59, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

US Long-gun Open Carry Map
May I ask why Oklahoma is red? Per the 2019 amendment to the unlawful carry statute as part of enacting constitutional carry all language specific to handguns and long-guns was removed and the present statute only refers to firearms in general. --Thegunkid (talk) 18:04, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know I just based this map on table in the article which state that "Open carry of long guns prohibited except during hunting season". You should change it there firstly. Borysk5 (talk) 18:27, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
Small Request
Hey, sorry to bug you but I want to make a map like the one for Yemen Civil War or Insurgency in Cabo Delgado but I don't know-how. And I was wondering if you could tell me how because I want to make one for the Tigray conflict but I couldn't find anything on how to make those maps. Wowzers122 (talk) 03:09, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- You can take a screenshot of template of detailed map and add frontlines and colors in some editing software like Paint. Borysk5 (talk) 07:52, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
Gun laws table
Hello, I really appreciate your whole contribution to gun laws topic on wiki, thank you. So I absolutly don't want to destroy your work in any way (thanks to you I have almost no need to take care of it here), but I want to specify why I made my edit the way I did (after not rush consideration): Czech law does not know "pistols" but only "handguns" (literally the "short guns") and "long guns" and "method of function" (automatic, semi-auto, repeating, etc.). So semi-automatic pistol is legaly "semi-automatic handgun". I already expected your move and I undestand that, but it is not clear enough this way. For example I guess that in US law AR of some length can be "pistol" (if I remember it correctly), but in czech law e.g. fully functional AR-15 shorter less than 60 cm in length cannot be pistol but "handgun" same goes for semi-auto submachine guns. There are more handguns than just pistols and revolvers. Also I switched color of magazine limitations to "yellowish maybe" because when it is shall issue for any magazine for people with firearms licence, but not for people without licence anymore (until 30/1/2021 it was "ordinary unregulated thing like pen or screw") and change is new so there is place for some uncertainty (same goes for hollow points). And one side question. Are you sure that latvian and croatian gun laws are or are not shall issue for concealed carry? Until today I did not found clear yes or no in english version of law in force (latvia looked for me line no-carry at all) - Kolomaznik (talk) 12:22, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
- You may be right about difference between handgun and pistol. I just wanted countries in table to be consistent. I marked other EU countries with similar restrictions as 20 (P) so such change should be consistent. Borysk5 (talk) 12:37, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
- When it comes to Croatia English translation from old law has shall-issue self defense licenses. However according to google translation of current law (Article 12) self-defense permits now require proof of threat to life meaning they have been changed to may-issue. Article 35.(8) bans carrying firearms for other purposes than self-defense. Borysk5 (talk) 12:54, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted
Hi Borysk5, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Help in creating a map
Hello, Borysk5! I hope you are well. Considering my last attempt at creating a conflict map was, let's say, suboptimal, and you helped to fix it, I just wanted to ask if you could assist me again? The map is intended for an article I created, George Athor's rebellion, but it could also be used for many other articles.
The map would be a recreation of the one seen in Fighting for Spoils: Armed Insurgencies in Greater Upper Nile, p. 4, showing insurgencies in South Sudan 2010-2011. If you do not have time, it would of course be ok if you say no. Applodion (talk) 22:36, 11 December 2022 (UTC)

List of warlords in the Central African Republic article edit
Hi Borysk 5
Thank you for your huge contributions to the Central African Republic article on Wikipedia; I appreciate it.
I just received a notification that you reverted my edit because "the link does not contain name Justin Hasane." However, when you click the link, there is his name. May I know why did you do that? Faldi00 (talk) 01:19, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Faldi00: I checked this link and his name is actually written Hassane, with two s. I did Ctrl f for "Hasane" which was the way it was written in article, so I found nothing. Borysk5 (talk) 06:41, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Firestar464. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Module:Central African Republic Civil War detailed map, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The sourced you linked is unreliable per WP:RSPFB. Firestar464 (talk) 15:38, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Firestar464: 1320 is official government hotline in C.A.R. where citizens can alert about presence of rebels and movement of armed forces. Here's news article about that hotline: [1]. Suggestion to merge articles regarding 2023 Sudan confrontations.
Hello. I would like to suggest the merging of 2023 Sudanese Armed Forces-Rapid Support Forces confrontation and 2023 Sudanese coup d'état attempt under the former's title, as this has not yet been necessarily confirmed as a coup d'état attempt by either side. LRA controlled territory in Haut-Mbomou?
I just looked at the Central African Republic Civil War Map and found an LRA-controlled area in Koumboli near Zemio. I think you should revise it since from what I have learned so far about LRA modus operandi is that the motive of LRA attacks on villages is to loot precious items such as food, cattle, and others and abduct the villagers. I had never heard that LRA occupied a village for a long time and even established a government system because after they managed to gain food and people, they would immediately retreat and leave the village in ruins. Faldi00 (talk) 14:01, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Faldi00: You may be right, this village was added by me more than 2 years ago, based on this entry from January 2021: [2]: "Doctor Achaye, the leader of the LRA Achaye faction, departed from the community of Koumboli. However, four LRA Achaye combatants remained camped-out in the community.". Borysk5 (talk) 14:47, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

Mali Map: Sources
Hello, I am right now interested in making some edits and also some clean up of the Mali template map. Now, many of the smaller settlements especially in the north and center north have no links and they don't show up on google. I have gone through many change revisions and saw that pretty much all of them where added by you at the creation of the page. I just wanted to know if you still have any sources for them. I found this: https://globalinitiative.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Global-Initiative-Human-Conveyor-Belt-Broken_March-2019.pdf as one of the sources later on which included a map that mirrors many of the early edits. Was that the source? But even that one doesn't include anything on stuff like Erigat el Akle which has nothing returned on google search except coordinates pointing to an empty spot in the desert.
I am asking this cause if nothing comes up on stuff like Erigat el Akle I'd like to just delete them as they are so small and unimportend that I think they are never going to be mentioned again in a source and are better to be deleted than stay there forever. Anyway sorry for the long post, I just wanna check up with other editors first before I do anything like deleting stuff. Cesshire (talk) 21:39, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Cesshire: Hi! The initial map was based on sources listed in description of the file: File:MaliWar.svg. Particularly, "Erigat el Akle" is based on this 2019 event from ACLED database: "On 21 February 2019, French forces of operation Barkhane carried out a combined air and ground operation in the area of El Akle nearly 300km northwest of Timbuktu, killing the deputy emir of JNIM and ten of his associates". Borysk5 (talk) 13:19, 1 September 2023 (UTC) EDIT: el Akle is not a village, but just a dessert
- Alright thanks. That database especially is very helpfull. Cesshire (talk) 20:46, 1 September 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. I've already repaired the error by adding the template to the new article's talk page. Invitation
I see you have been working on some health-related subjects this week, and I want to invite you to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine. You're welcome to join us if it's a subject area that interests you. It's a good place to ask questions about finding good sources for medical content or writing style. Feel free to put the group's page on your watchlist, or stop by to say hello some time. WhatamIdoing (talk) 19:11, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi! I don't really focus on health, I like jumping from topic to topic on wikipedia and doing maps and lists. Borysk5 (talk) 17:31, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- No problem. Now you know where to find some other editors, if you ever stumble across a problem you can't fix in a medicine-related article.
- If you like maps, then Wikipedia:WikiProject Maps is a small group that might be interesting for you. WhatamIdoing (talk) 18:22, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

Somalia maps sources
I found some sources on maps of the Somali civil war that may be of interest if you want to create or update Wikipedia's map. The first is by Aaga Cawllan here and most of Somali twitter that I saw preferred Cawllan's map to the one by the Hiraan Institute here. I just thought you would find these interesting or helpful. Jebiguess (talk) 21:49, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Jebiguess: Oh yeah I already saw these maps! Borysk5 (talk) 06:15, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
Request for Kivu conflict update
The map of the Kivu conflict is out of date, M23 has since captured Rubaya and Kanyabayonga, i've been trying to keep the detailed map updated but that can only show so much. I would greatly appreciate it if you could update the two maps you created for the conflict the Kivu conflict and the M23 offensive map. Here is a recent map of the situation i've found https://ipisresearch.be/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/240618_M23-Frontlines_May-2024-scaled.jpeg and the orginal website https://ipisresearch.be/publication/shifting-frontlines-visualizing-the-evolution-of-the-m23s-territorial-influence-in-early-2024/ their map only goes to May 15 2024 so you'd have to add Kanyabayonga. Also I love your work here on wikipedia and on youtube.
Update: literally a few minutes after I made this comment I found out Kayna and Kirumba also fell under M23 control. https://actualite.cd/2024/06/29/rdc-apres-kanyabayonga-kayna-et-kirumba-passent-sous-controle-du-m23-des-habitants

Did Fretilin recapture Mt Matebian?
Hi! I'm editing zh:印度尼西亞佔領東帝汶 (Indonesian occ of East Timor), and drawing a map in Chinese depicting Indonesian army offence based on your awesome work. From your file (right), I see Mt Matebian, labelled with a date of Indonesian seizure, falls out of pink area. Does this mean Fretilin recapture the holy mountain before 1986? Neither from German Wikipedia nor from Chega! did I get any info on this. Hopefully you may enlighten me on this matter. —— 王桁霽 (talk) 23:25, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- @王桁霽: Hi! Yes, as per this source, recalling situation in 1980: "They found some small pockets of the Resistance and Falantil troops that had survived. There were small groups in Laline and Uaimori, David Alex’s group in Matebian, some in Manatuto, as well as others". Based on this I assume while main base of Fretilin on Mt Matebian was destroyed, Indonesia did not establish permanent presence there, which allowed some groups of resistance to move there after their withdrawal. - Oh, thanks very much! -- 王桁霽 (talk) 21:15, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
