Altair, The image of Michael G. Crandall was appropriate and constructive because...he is the pope. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cababah (talk • contribs) 21:09, 7 November 2012 (UTC) I am very sorry. I saw that you objected to my Wikipedia page, Paulina Rubio. I just read somewhere that she was caught being a gay pornstar. I am guessing that my information is wrong. I will delete it right away. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hakulaj (talk • contribs) 17:44, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I must say that jokes and "for the lulz" is not appropriate in a serious encyclopedia, so I'll ask you to refrain from that. Otherwise, you are welcome to edit constructively and become a faithful editor here at Wikipedia. Enjoy your stay nonetheless :) --Altaïr (talk) 21:15, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, but please do not take down pictures that accurately portray the person in question. That to me, is not being constructive. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.207.185.141 (talk) 03:52, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations from STiki!

The Anti-Vandalism + STiki Barnstar

Congratulations, Altaïr! You're receiving this barnstar because you recently crossed the 1,000 classification threshold using STiki. We thank you both for your contributions to Wikipedia at-large and your use of the tool. We hope you continue your ascent up the leaderboard and stay in touch at the talk page. Thank you and keep up the good work! West.andrew.g (talk) 15:57, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have written your opinion, I have written mine. But to you, if an an opinion is different than yours, you call it vandalism. (I apologise for calling you names. It was not appropriate and I wish to follow the common rules of courtesy).

Allright, first of all, your edit was vandalism. Vandalism is not welcome here on Wikipedia. Second, your opinion on the matter was not written in an appropriate way for an encyclopedia, and yes, we all have different opinions, but there are some guidelines here on Wikipedia, and you should read them before you contribute further, in case you want to risk a block. --Altaïr (talk) 22:23, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have made a contribution that represents a SIGNIFICANT number of people, many thousands have signed petitions stating so. And yet you still insist it is vandalism. I will be reporting you, but not by making up some vandalism bs, but by telling the truth. You don't care about truth, just your opinion. In fact, there are many opinions about this Kastinka person. Why are you afraid to show all views? 24.69.166.143
You seem to misunderstand what Wikipedia is about. Again, this has nothing to do with truth. But if you can present a reliable source to support your claim, and rewrite your edits so that they are not conflicting with WP:BLP, you are of course free to make the edits. I hope this clarifies the situation. --Altaïr (talk) 22:42, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So here we go again, I present a logical counter-view to yours, WITH sources, and you still delete it. I will not tire. I will pursue this, and will complain to wikipedia should you continue. This self-delusional "artist", or might we say, psychopath....claims she is making a point about animal rights. She says we murder farm animals for food, but would cringe at the thought of doing so to our own pets. This is what I claim: We do not, as a moderately sane society, protest child sex-tourism in Thailand, by raping our own children. To do so, would immediately raise our alarm bells for nonsense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.69.166.143 (talk) 01:03, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't YOU suggest a way to include the counter view I have presented? It is a fact that many people believe she is deranged. Just as SHE believes she is an artist. No one can prove she is either, both opinions are subjective. So if she can say what she does as art, we should be able to say what we think she does is a result of mental illness. 24.69.166.143 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:12, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wikipedia,

I have edited an article called "Tinkebell". I have tried to add the following content repeatedly:

"Alternately, some people believe she is a deranged individual seeking fame, and has hijacked the animal rights issue as a means to achieve her goal".

This is a valid view. As valid as the subjective claim that what she does is art. I have a reference citing over 100, 000 people who share this alternate view.

This man, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Altaïr keeps erasing what I wrote. The first few edits I made were not objective enough, so I read more about the rules and rewrote them to comply with wikipedia's guidelines.

Please help! This is a legitimate edit. He's threatening to block me. Goldenchalicejustice (talk) 01:28, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nice you found a source. I respect this, but I don't respect you leaving out the reason I reverted the edits: you called her a deranged psychopath, which is generally not accepted here. You won't get far with this I'm afraid. Did you tell this to "Wikipedia"? I do not think so. Wikipedia is about having a neutral point of view. I think you already know that. --Altaïr (talk) 09:33, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Phil Bentley?

Hello, not sure how this works?

Did i do this right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Bentley_(Songwriter)

and How can i improve it? also I want to remove (Songwriter) from showing at thee top title.

Thank you.

executive order 13603

In Executive Order 13603, I wrote something about Shreveport to make a point that Wikipedia, a awesome place for info, is not all the reliable sometimes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.236.178.248 (talk) 22:28, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did you notice how you wrote it? That is far from encyclopedic. What would other readers think if they saw a Wikipedia with all caps and exclamation marks? People would get disgusted and exit. So please, when you make contributions, use a more "normal" way of writing, so Wikipedia can keep the reputation of having content readable to everyone. --Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad 22:32, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not bite the newcomers

Please do not attack newcomers because they make mistakes. This edit[1] by User talk:203.99.48.139 was undoubtedly misguided, but it calling it vandalism was wrong. Please read Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. It would be helpful if you would amend the comments you made on his/her talk page, and explain properly what the IP editor did wrong. If you do not have time for that, then please amend your comment to say that the edit the IP editor made was misguided instead of calling the edit vandalism.--Toddy1 (talk) 18:11, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

regarding the standoff edit

hey there. i needed to remove the article because the sources quoted was baised

an example would be On 26 February 2013, President Aquino appealed to Kiram to give more support to his followers while the goverenment will support their needs to continue the standoff. [17] In a press conference held at Malacañang Palace, Aquino said that the longer Kiram’s followers stay in Sabah, the more they will continue fighting and more bloodshed will be seen. Addressing Kiram, he said, "It must be clear to you that this small group of people will succeed in addressing our claim, and that we will do everything we can so that that force can achieve our aims."[18] and i suspected it being written by one of the parties who is invloved in the standoff the article is writing.

if you check with the source, it tells a different story http://www.gov.ph/2013/02/26/statement-of-president-aquino-on-the-sabah-incident-february-26-2013/. hence i think it is better to remove the article then to leave it and have its neutrality disputed

I don't know how this works. I've never used a talk page before. Essentially, I'd like to say, that some of the information changed on the hypospadias page was correct. I can provide citations. It's a very misunderstood condition, and I'm angry that the info on it is portrayed in the way that it is. Any chance I could get your help in changing some of it to be more accurate and complete if I provide you with resources? Or at least some help keeping the additional info up, rather than having it deleted? 24.163.20.31 (talk) 15:21, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you seem to be very knowledgable on the subject. If you have sources, you could perhaps write it on the article's talk page and bring it up to discussion. I'm sorry I can't assist you further, but it's the best thing you could do to get your info to added in a way so it is not considered strange or unconstructive. All the best, --Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad 15:29, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Who decides whether it is constructive or not and whether it gets put into the article or not? 24.163.20.31 (talk) 15:33, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Everyone; well, everyone that has an interest in the subject; there might be users (like me with a username) that are interested in hypospadias, and they might be willing to discuss the information you wish to add to the article. I would recommend you to make an account, it's free, and it makes communication easier for all parts. It's not required, but it's a good idea. I hope this clarifies the situation. --Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad 15:38, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Huggle 3

Hey Altaïr! I am Petrb, one of core developers of Huggle, the antivandalism tool, which you are beta testing (according to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers). I am happy to announce that Huggle 3 is ready for some testing. You can read more about it at WP:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta. Please keep in mind that this is a development version and it is not ready for regular use. That means you must:

  • Watch your contribs - when anything happens you didn't want, fix it and report a bug
  • Frequently checkout source code and build latest version, we change it a lot

If you find any problem with a feature that is supposed to work perfectly, please let us know. Some features are not ready yet, it is listed in known problems on Huggle3 beta page, you don't need to report these - we know it! So, that's it. Have fun testing and please let us know about any problems, either using bugzilla @ http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/ or #huggle connect. Please respond to my talk page, I am not going to watch your talk page. Thank you Petrb (talk) 10:56, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Huggle 3 beta is out - and we need more feedback!

Hey Altaïr, how are you? I am Petrb, one of huggle developers, and you are currently subscribed as a beta tester of huggle on meta (meta:Huggle/Members. You may not have noticed, but this week I released first beta precompiled installers for ubuntu and microsoft windows! Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta has all the links you need. So if you can, please download it, test it and report all bugs that is really what we need now. Don't forgot that as it's just a beta it's unstable and there are some known issues. Be carefull! Thank you for helping us with huggle Petrb (talk) 16:17, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We need your help testing latest huggle

Hello,

I am sending you this message because you listed yourself on meta:Huggle/Members as a beta tester. We desperately need attention of testers, because since we resolved all release blockers, we are ready to release first official version of huggle 3! Before that happens, it would be nice if you could test it so that we can make sure there are no issues with it. You can download it packaged for your operating system (see Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta) or you can of course build it yourself, see https://github.com/huggle/huggle3-qt-lx for that. Don't forget to use always latest version, there is no auto-update message for beta versions!

Should you find any issue, please report it to wikimedia bugzilla, that is a central place for huggle bugs, where we look at them. That is i mportant, if you find a bug and won't report it, we can't fix it. Thank you for your work on this, if you have any questions, please send me a message on my talk page, I won't be looking for responses here. Thanks, Petrb (talk) 15:08, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New huggle 3.1 is going to be released soon

Hi Altaïr, we are to release a new major version of huggle, but we did receive almost no feedback from our beta testing team, which you are a part of (see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members). It would be of a great help if you could download it (if you have windows, all you need to do is getting http://tools.wmflabs.org/huggle/files/huggle3.1.0beta.exe and putting it to a folder where you have installed huggle) and test it. You can always get a help with making it @ #huggle connect!

Major changes:

  • Multisite support - you can now log in to unlimited number of wikis in 1 huggle session and get a huge queue of all edits made to these wikis. This is good for smaller projects which gets overlooked often.
  • Ranged diffs - you can select multiple revisions and get a huge diff that display all changes done to them.
  • Fixes of most of bug reports we had so far

In case you found a bug, please report it to bugzilla: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?product=Huggle&list_id=147663 thank you! Petrb (talk) 10:06, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Huggle message

Hey Altaïr! You are receiving this message because you are subscribed at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers

I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/

Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.

Keep the bug reports coming to phabricator: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/create/?projects=Huggle Many thanks! Petrb (talk) 09:53, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
