Thanks for posting at my talk page. I'm sorry I reverted your edits, when I viewed the differences page, it looked to me like you completely blanked the article, so I reverted it. I agree, the information you removed is a bit overboard. Again, I apologize for my oversight. -GregAsche (talk) 04:52, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
Congrats
For your 200th edit. Molotov (talk) 22:29, 19 September 2005 (UTC)

World Series MVPs
isn't it only fair that every World Series MVP have their own article on wikipedia? well i noticed that there were two that didn't, so i set out to right this wrong. I am proud to announce that Jose Rijo and Larry Sherry, the missing links, now have their own wikipedia articles, meaning that on the entire list of World Series MVPs, there is not a single red link.--Alhutch 06:15, 24 September 2005 (UTC)
new personal record! 54 edits in one wikipedia day. you may not be impressed, but i am.--Alhutch 06:19, 24 September 2005 (UTC)
We don't give strings of qualifications/honours/medals, etc. after people's names (Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies) doesn't mention this specifically, but a look at other biographies will back up the point; there may be other articles that make this mistake, but the vast majority of articles don't). The honours are mentioned in the text, and adding them after his name (especially in the context of other articles) looks rather cheesy. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:50, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
- I don't disagree about a person's right to use the letters in that way, nor about the order — it's jusyt a question of Wikipedia style. As I said above, I had no doubt that exceptions could be found, but there are thousands of other articles in which the letters aren't used. It's rather like the title "Dr"; almost the only time it's shoved on the front of a person's name in the first line of articles is when some point is being made (so editors of David Duke are always trying to give him the title, while editors at John Lewis (philosopher) and Peter J. King (to grab two from Category:English philosophers) are happy to mention the doctorate in the article. My feeling is that adding the letters as well as the explanation a couple of lines later is over-egging the pudding, and looks — well, as I said above, cheesy.
- Anyway, I've raised the issue at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (biographies) — you might want to give your view there too. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 15:37, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
Jaxl's RfA
Hi, thanks for your support vote on my RfA! Robert 15:41, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
My RFA
Thank you very much for your vote on my RFA, it is now one of the most supported RFA ever, and it couldnt have happened without your vote. I look forward to serving wikipedia. Again, thanks. →Journalist >>talk<< 16:39, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
I wanted to thank you for supporting my RfA. Unfortunately, it did not reach the required level of support and failed. Apparently, some didn't feel that I had participated enough outside the article namespace. I may try again in a few months. Thanks again. --Rogerd 21:42, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, I see it now that you point it out. No problems. Keep up the good work and I'll put you in for Admin when and if the time comes. Any other matters, don't hesitate to drop me a note. BTW, how are you finding vandalism? - RoyBoy 800 18:46, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
- Ah, well if you would prefer a program that lets you see changes quickly, mark vandals and such you could try the WP:CDVF. Essentially you download the jar file and run the program. It has some nice options, but it works best with a browser that has tabs, like Firefox. That way you can click on multiple users and or multiple windows to see what's going on. - RoyBoy 800 18:56, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
Sockpuppets
Not sure, I think bureaucrats have that ability. Wouldn't worry too much about it as new users are taken with a pinch of salt and checked out prior to vote tallies. But if curious ask a bureaucrat. - RoyBoy 800 04:46, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
You voted to delete DJ Quietstorm, and I can't blame you the way it looked :-) However I've found some evidence of notability, and cleaned up the article. Perhaps you'd like to take another look, and maybe think about changing your vote? the wub "?!" 18:18, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
My RfA
Thanks for your support of my nomination. I hope you are able to beat the editcountitis. I have heard rumors of the construction of a multimillion dollar, top-of-the-line rehab center. We can only hope :) Qaz (talk) 00:36, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
Hey, I cleaned-up the Near Vertical Incidence Skywave page to make it appropriate for Wikiepdia. I removed the Wifi stuff, and added a simple explanation of what NVIS really is.
basically, NVIS is a radio propogation mode that is especially useful in communicating over the horizon in circumstances where VHF isn't useful. Sometimes you want to communicate with a station on shortwave thats too far for groundwave and too far for traditional skywave. This is called the skip zone. So, basically, NVIS allows you to communicate into the skip zone. This is useful for emergency or mmilitary applications.
I have no idea where the fellow was going when he wrote it, but you may want to take another look at it and see what I did. Roodog2k (Hello there!) 16:49, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- I saw that you changed your vote. Thanks! Roodog2k (Hello there!) 21:25, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
Mike Dirnt
I am currently working on improving the edit that I added to the Mike Dirnt article. I would appreciate if you would stop deleting legitimate information —Preceding unsigned comment added by PantsMikeBrigader1 at 21:59, 15 October 2005 (talk • contribs)
a heads-up on the List of Guantanamo Bay detainees
Greetings,
Since you voted to keep the article List of Guantanamo Bay detainees I thought I would give you a "heads-up". A copyright violation was filed against the article, on October 11th. It was filed by someone who had voted to delete the article on October 5th.
I believe that the copyright violation is entirely bogus. I believe it is bogus because, as explained in Feist Publications v. Rural Telephone Service, lists of facts, like lists of names, cannot be copyright. This Feist v. Rural case went all the way to the US Supreme Court, which made the possibly counter-intuitive ruling that the amount of effort someone put in to compiling a list plays no role in determining whether that list is eligible for copyright protection.
Even if alphabetic lists of names could be copyright, I believe the wikipedia list would not be violating copyright since the list was compiled from various sources.
Yes, I have considered that this user invoked a bogus copyright violation to achieve a result that failed in the {AfD}. Yes, I asked them to terminate the copyright violation process, in light of Feist v Rural. They declined. The backlog in the administrators dealing with copyright violations seems to be on the order of a month long.
Anyhow, I wanted the people who had shown interest in the article to not freak out, or feel betrayed, by seeing the copyright violation tag. -- Geo Swan 11:35, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

RE: Tommy Bowden
Thank you for salvaging the article. It's a pity that articles like this one need to go through AfD in order to get noticed. Anyway, I'll change my 'no opinion' to 'keep' and that will be the end of it. Thanks again! -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ | Esperanza 19:09, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the nice note. You never know who you are going to run into on Wiki. --Cberlet 21:02, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
i noticed that you reverted a change in the logo size on the circuit city article. since you're an administrator, would you mind blocking 4.242.192.58 for repeated vandalism of the circuit city article. the user has been warned more than once, and if they are not blocked now, the warnings seem like empty threats. thanks,--Alhutch 05:12, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
Global warming
I have temporarily protected Global warming as requested. I will unprotect it in a few hours and see what happens. If you need anything else, please let me know. Thanks. -- Psy guy (talk) 07:21, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Oops, I think we just tripped over each others vandal-fighting efforts there. Good work though. Thanks. Cnwb 23:50, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
- Nothing messed up from where I'm sitting. What kind of messed up? Cnwb 00:14, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
- I noticed half the page had blue text before I left my comment. I thought it was a little odd. No font-size changes on my talk-page when I look at it. Problem might be at your end. Cnwb 00:22, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
Edit on Robert Prim
Thanks for your edits on the article I wrote on Robert C. Prim. Appreciate it.

Glad to help. After all, I work at a country radio station. :) Thanks for the tip. On my way. - Lucky 6.9 20:15, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
OK, our immature little friend is now taking a forced 48-hour wikivacation. Again, I'm glad to help fight the good fight. Signing off for now...see you on the wiki! - Lucky 6.9 20:18, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
I noticed that your edit summary said: (rv vandalism by User:217.219.111.130), however that IP address has not edited the article within the last month as far as I can tell. was that a mistake?--Alhutch 22:10, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

GraemeL's RFA
Hi Alhutch,
I am now an administrator and would like to thank you for your support on my RfA. I was very surprised at the number of votes and amount of and kind comments that I gathered. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I mess up in the use of my new powers. --GraemeL (talk) 15:50, 21 November 2005 (UTC)Republic of East Van vs Republic of Vancouver
I've never come across the latter, only the former. What did you base your edit of the Vancouver page on?Skookum1 21:38, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
Stub changes
I reverted your change of the stub notice for Zoe McLellan. Although she has worked in TV she has also got a number of film credits so it's incorrect to classify her strictly as a TV actress. Cheers. 23skidoo 20:51, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
