Hello

How do I get rewards for Wikipedia? Thank you. Happy editing! Abduvaitov Sherzod WikiViki (talk) 17:32, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You don't, it's a volunteer project. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 19:39, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What are you trying to do here? - Ratnahastin (talk) 02:27, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fixing a typo. Not sure why there was a bunch of fffff's. Reverted that part. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 02:55, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Race and ethnicity in Brazil, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A bare URL error. References show this error when one of the URL-containing parameters cannot be paired with an associated title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. ( | )

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can . Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 00:48, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Crashy crashy

Looks like AAB crashed, but according to contribs, it actually posted all the report pages including last update but not the status page. It looks like it didn't upload zips. So the next run needs to not download zips so it uses the current local files. If you send me the log file, I might take a look at what crashed. —  HELLKNOWZ  TALK 10:13, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Hellknowz: log on IRC, i'll send them to you. I had a hard crash (bluescreen) towards the end of the run. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 10:43, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You can't send files on IRC anyway, so you'd have to e-mail it. But if it's your PC that crashed, then I don't really need the log. —  HELLKNOWZ  TALK 12:45, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it's AAB that made it crash? Anyway, the log files stop at

If your PC crashed, then the bot never got the chance to flush the latest entries to the log. But it wouldn't have anything useful anyway - it's not like I log (or can log) system crashes or even app crashes. If this was caused by the bot (which is very unlikely with C#), I'd need your system crash logs that would have a stack trace to the AAB process. But honestly, it's not worth it unless this is systematic. —  HELLKNOWZ  TALK 16:46, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah there's nothing in the crash logs. Nothing before the crash, and after the crash, there's a
"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
There's abunch of other error/warnings after the reboot, but they're all related to normal post-bluescreen fuckups and other software like AMDRyzenMaster. It's definitely not systematic. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 17:00, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Enlighten me, please

I'd appreciate knowing why you reverted my re-insertion of the definite article in "Records of the Australian Academy of Science", in the Paul Wild (Australian scientist) article, despite my having provided a source for the correct terminology. SCHolar44 (talk) 07:59, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

See doi:10.1071/hr9720230052. Everywhere, it's Records of Australian Academy of Science, without the 'the'. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 08:34, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page watcher) The publishers themselves are inconsistent: see Vol 1(1) online without "the", yet they now say "The first issue of the journal (under the title Records of the Australian Academy of Science)" ! PamD 10:45, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Being a retired librarian this has piqued my interest: I've emailed the publishers to query their inconsistency! PamD 10:51, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The British Library has catalogued it with the "the". It would be lovely to see an actual facsimile printed issue, but Google books isn't offering one! PamD 11:00, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Link to a review of the journal printed in 1969. Australian library record. Another Aussie library record. All use "the". I agree that it would be nice to see a facsimile of the cover page or a PDF of an article showing a footer with the journal name. Note that the publisher's page misspells the word "Foreword" on their web page, although it is correct in the downloadable PDF of the Foreword of issue 1, so I would trust their authority less, despite their being the issuer of the publication. – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:37, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
