ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

Luigi Mangione
"editor-created drawings/sketches aren't appropriate as lead images for BLPs (WP:NOR), especially for such a high-traffic article such as this one" - Really? Not the first time I've done a drawing of someone we don't have a free photo of until we get one. My first was Kim Jong-un sketch, and the latest was Gisèle Pelicot portrait, which was on the main page (ITN) on four wikis, including en-wiki, and peaked at 151,705,371 views a couple of days ago (well, Simple English use the pencil version). Think again. Cart (talk) 16:35, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- There have been discussions in the past about editor-created drawings/cartoons/sketches being the lead images of BLPs. See this one for example: Wikipedia:No_original_research/Noticeboard/Archive_49#Cartoon_portraits. You could start a discussion at Talk:Luigi Mangione and see if others are okay with your sketch being the lead image of his article. Some1 (talk) 16:51, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
