User:Simmaren
Simmaren was born in 1949, lives in Chicago, Illinois, and is an attorney with a large law firm specializing in state and local government law and finance, corporate finance and banking. He has interests in science fiction (has been reading actively since 1960); the works of Jane Austen; Samuel Johnson and Enlightenment England generally; the history, culture and society of ancient Greece and Rome and ancient and modern China and Japan; renaissance and Baroque music; jazz; anime; science and technology; and contemporary culture and politics. Simmaren studied French and Chinese and majored in East Asian Studies/History in college. Simmaren likes to hike and (formerly) to backpack in the mountains of the Western United States. He also paddles canoes and sea kayaks with his family. He became a WP:User on February 14, 2007. Simmaren does not have as much time to spend on WP as he would like.
