Personal life
In August 1918, aged 24, Andersen was transferred to Meckering for three months, as a temporary replacement for an officer who was on long service leave.[1] It was there that he met Marie Arthémise Le Nay; two years later they married, in February 1920[2] at Star of the Sea Church, Cottesloe.[1][3] They had four children,[4][5] born between 1920 and 1940.[1][6][a]
