About me
Hi! My username comes from the folk song Aiken Drum. I would have been Aiken Drum (with a capital D) but it was taken. I have been a Wikipedian since 2009.
What I am doing here?
I spend most of my time browsing articles and editing to improve as I see it. Occasionally I create new articles or work extensively on existing ones. My biggest efforts so far have been with:
- Didsbury Campus, a former campus of Manchester Metropolitan University (good article)
- Nick Robinson, a British journalist and broadcaster, and former political editor for the BBC (good article)
- Chetham's School of Music, the largest music school in the UK (good article)
- Dancing mania, a weird phenomenon where people would dance for long periods in the middle ages, apparently out of control
I've also starting reviewing good article nominations. My list of reviewed articles is here.
My creations:
- Kate Petty, a children's writer
- Cynthia Felgate, an executive producer for Children's BBC
- Ruth George, Member of Parliament for High Peak, Derbyshire
- Child Genius - a British documentary series
- Kingsway (A34) - a major road in Greater Manchester, England
- How the Other Half Live - a British documentary series
- Beverley Randell - a children's author
- A555 road - part of a major road scheme in Cheshire/Greater Manchester, linking major roads to Manchester Airport
- Greater Manchester bus route 43 - a frequent bus service in Manchester, which runs all day and night every day of the year
- The Old Wellington Inn - one of the oldest public houses in Manchester
- The Moon Under Water, Manchester - a Wetherspoons public house in Manchester, once claimed to be the largest pub in the country
