Turmus Aya Equestrian Club
The Turmus Ayya Equestrian Club, located in the town of Turmus Ayya in the Palestinian territories, was founded in 2007 by Ashraf Rabi.[1] The club provides stabling care for private horses owners, and offers training in jumping and dressage. Rabi, originally from Turmus Ayya, emigrated to Panama and later to the United States. He returned to his hometown to fulfill his dream of building a house with a stable full of horses.[1] After seeing children come to watch the horses, he established the club to make equestrian sports more accessible, despite the sport's reputation for being expensive.[1] Rabi also operates a horse farm in the United States, where he breeds Arabian horses for sale.[1]
