Usage
Place this on the talk page of relevant articles:
{{WikiProject Olympics |class= |importance= |listas= |Paralympics= |Olympic Bids= }}
Other parameters are available; these are described later.
{{WikiProject Olympics}} is a talk page template that is used as a shortcut to other pages in the WikiProject. It is also used as a way of assessing articles. You should supply the correct assessment when you add this template to a talk page.
For example, for a normal article you have six choices on how to use this template:
Code | Description | Consensus |
---|---|---|
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=Stub}} | Stub | Anyone can add this to a talk page without any approval process |
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=Start}} | Start | Anyone can add this to a talk page without any approval process |
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=B}} | B | Anyone can add this to a talk page without any approval process |
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=GA}} | GA | To add this to a talk page, the article must pass the Good article approval process |
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=A}} | A | To add this to a talk page the article must pass A-Class approval process |
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=FA}} | FA | To add this to a page, the article must pass the Featured article approval process |
Some pages in the main space are not articles, but have special purposes. Use these parameters for such articles:
Code | Description | Use |
---|---|---|
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=NA}} | NA | Add this to the talk page of pages that are not articles, such as navigational lists. |
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=Dab}} | Disambig | Add this to the talk page of a disambiguation page. |
Other pages have parameters for class:
Code | Description | Use |
---|---|---|
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=Category}} | Category | Add this to the talk page of Categories. |
{{WikiProject Olympics|class=Template}} | Template | Add this to the talk page of Templates along with template documentation. |
Optional parameters
- class – valid values are fa, a, ga, b, c, start, stub, fl, list, na (case-insensitive). See the project's quality scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave
|class=
blank or omit the parameter. - importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na (case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave
|importance=
blank or omit the parameter. - listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Pierre de Coubertin, use
|listas=Coubertin, Pierre de
so that the talk page will show up in the C's and not the P's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add|listas=
to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
