This template is used by the Wikimedia Foundation when a user is banned from participating on the English Wikipedia or on all Wikimedia wikis.

The above is also the default display of the template.
{{WMF-legal banned user|global=no}} yields:
Adding this template does not constitute a WMF ban, as only WMF Trust and Safety have the authority to instate Foundation bans.
When placed on a user or user talk page, this will add the user to the category Wikipedians banned by the Wikimedia Foundation.
