Zhang Dongju, Chen Fahu, Baishiya Karst Cave
- ... that Zhang Dongju, Chen Fahu and J.-J. Hublin discovered that a fossil jaw from Baishiya Cave belonged to the first known Denisovan outside Siberia and the first known human on the Tibetan Plateau? Source: Science, Nature

- Partial Review Baishiya Karst Cave was recently on the Main Page, and is therefore ineligible under DYK rules. This does not mean that the other two articles fail. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 20:28, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- @7&6=thirteen: I nominated both Xiahe mandible and Baishiya Karst Cave for ITN, and both were initially posted by Tone, but Baishiya was de-bolded by Stephen two hours later in this edit (I actually never realized it had been posted until looking through the ITN history after your query). So I don't think it should be considered to have appeared on ITN. -Zanhe (talk) 22:13, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- Review All articles are new enough, long enough, and supported by in line sources. Hook is interesting. However, Baishiya Karst Cave was recently on the Main Page, and is therefore ineligible under DYK rules. I am impressed with the equitable argument that the article was only on the main page for a matter of minutes. However, I leave that to the promoter (and the DYK powers that be) as resolving that is contrary to policy and above my pay grade. This is a report working from the script of Robert Mueller's press conference. Three QPQs confirmed. All three articles are free of any apparent copyright or close paraphrasing issues.
- I think that the articles should be improved, at least dropping a note (or maybe even a paragraph) explaining the meaning of Denisovans. It would give some needed context to those who aren't well versed in paleoanthropology. But that is not a requirement for approval of a DYK, only a suggestion. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 19:12, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
