HolbyBlue
... that HolbyBlue was the first British police drama to be created since the September 11 attacks?Source: "The answer came from my friend and joint head of Kudos Television, Jane Featherstone. She pointed out that this would be the first British cop show launched post 9/11."ALT1:... that show creator Tony Jordan questioned whether HolbyBlue would be held in disdain if he used the "Holby" brand to create a third arm of the already established medical dramas Casualty and Holby City? Source: "My next decision came soon after, when the BBC suggested I use the "Holby" brand to create a third arm of the successful Casualty and Holby City format. If I used the brand, would my series be held in disdain by the "soap snobs"?"- ALT2:... that show creator Tony Jordan wanted HolbyBlue to emulate American police dramas Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue? Source: "I have long admired the American approach to cop shows, the wonderful Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue ... I wanted my show to emulate this."
- Comment: I don't believe I need a QPQ as this is my first nominated article. Feel free to amend or suggest other hooks.
Improved to Good Article status by ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk). Self-nominated at 15:36, 4 November 2017 (UTC).
- I don't quite understand the history of this article and was initially going to fail it for being nominated three months too late. However the date of 30 July 2017 for the GA, as mentioned on the talk page, seems to be wrong. So the GA is new enough and long enough, the hook facts are sourced inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. Either hook could be used. No QPQ needed. - @Cwmhiraeth: Thank you for taking the time to assess the article. I have chosen to use the first hook for the DYK. All the best! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 17:39, 11 November 2017 (UTC)
- Nomination has been pulled because the original hook could not be confirmed as accurate (please see discussion at WT:DYK#Queue 6 police drama). Hook is struck. ElectrodeandtheAnode, you will need to come up with a new hook, and modify the article so it no longer contains the questionable statement behind the hook. Please let us know when that's ready. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:49, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- @BlueMoonset: I have modified the article and removed the factually inaccurate statement as per this edit. As a result, I have suggested a new hook, please let me know if ALT2 is any better. Thanks. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 22:13, 23 November 2017 (UTC)
- New reviewer needed to check ALT2. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:20, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hook ALT2 is interesting and clearly supported by the cited source. I approve the hook, so if everything else is in line, as BlueMoonset says, then I think this one is ready for DYK.-Bryanrutherford0 (talk) 16:13, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
