Template:Db-g12
Speedy deletion templates |
---|
This template is used to tag pages for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria, specifically CSD G12. There is a separate template for each criterion – see the table to the right.
This template places the page into the categories Candidates for speedy deletion and Candidates for speedy deletion as copyright violations.
Usage
The template should be placed at the top of the page to be deleted.
Parameters
{{db-g12|url=sourceurl}}
- Where sourceurl is the full URL of the page, or a description of the source, from which the content was taken.
{{db-g12|url=sourceurl|url2=sourceurl2}}
{{db-g12|url=sourceurl|url2=sourceurl2|url3=sourceurl3}}
- With 2 or 3 source URLs.
{{db-g12|bot=ExampleBot|url=sourceurl}}
- Bot accounts will specify the
|bot=
parameter to notify the reviewing admin that the page was tagged by an automated process.
{{db-g12|url=sourceurl|oldid=123456789}}
- Where 123456789 is an old revision ID to be used in the links to Duplication Detector and Earwig's Copyvio Detector (useful when this template is used in conjunction with {{afc cleared}}).
For administrators
Add |checking=yes
to this template to make the following notice appear above the "notes to administrators":
An administrator is currently comparing the article text to the source material. Please do not delete the page while they are performing this check.
Author notification
If you nominate a page for deletion under this criterion, please consider placing the following code:
{{subst:db-copyvio-notice|PageName|URL|header=1}}
...on the User talk page of the main contributor(s) to the page, replacing PageName with the name of the page being marked for deletion, and URL with the URL from which the material was plagiarised. This will display the following user warning template:
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on [[:{{{1}}}]] requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by [[:{{{1}}}|visiting the page]] and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.See also
