Audience and developer response
@SuperSalamander5434: In the interest of avoiding more edit warring, please feel free to voice your issues with the article's content here. – Rhain ☔ (he/him) 22:32, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
Legacy
@GylonVisagie: I know you're not a fan of this article's Legacy section (or me), but in light of these recent edits, please share your specific concerns here. The section is consistent with the first game and the Manual of Style, so I think its inclusion here is logical. These edits also introduced several formatting errors and removed about a dozen references. – Rhain ☔ (he/him) 22:53, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
Help requested: How to edit the "Critical response" section
I'm unsure whether to include Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's review[1] of this game. His review may be significant. Also, him calling it the worst game of 2020[2] may be significant. Also, in the "References" section, should he be credited as Ben Croshaw or Yahtzee Croshaw? Ss0jse (talk) 20:46, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- I think there's a tendency to avoid Croshaw's reviews since they're typically more comedic in nature. I suppose it depends if his review says anything notable that isn't already discussed elsewhere. – Rhain ☔ (he/him) 22:42, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, although the "Reception" section of the article for Sonic Forces mentioned his review of that game and him calling that game the second worst game of 2017. Ss0jse (talk) 00:05, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Sure, and there are plenty of other examples too. – Rhain ☔ (he/him) 00:08, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- I don't want to use Whataboutism, but why cite Yahtzee Croshaw in the Sonic Forces article, and not here? Ss0jse (talk) 00:10, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Also, was I using Whataboutism or was I pointing out a genuine inconsistency? Ss0jse (talk) 16:04, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- "Here" being the article for The Last of Us Part II. Ss0jse (talk) 00:13, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Different articles are written by different editors. It's truly as simple as that. Plenty of media outlets review games; it would be impossible to try and include them all. – Rhain ☔ (he/him) 00:15, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Be aware of the concept of WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Just because you observe something somewhere doesn't make it right, or necessarily validate replicating it elsewhere. Quite the opposite, it could be that Croshaw shouldn't be in either article. I'd lean more that way. Sergecross73 msg me 00:45, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Okay. Yeah, I was just about to add this to the article:
- Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw of The Escapist complimented the game as "well-made" but heavily criticized it as "unnecessarily long" and Ellie as unlikable and uncompelling.[3] Ultimately, Croshaw would call it the worst game of 2020.[4] Ss0jse (talk) 00:55, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- That reads like a general overview of Croshaw's thoughts about the game, which doesn't really fit anywhere in the article, in my opinion. I second Serge's comments here. – Rhain ☔ (he/him) 01:09, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you both. Ss0jse (talk) 01:12, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

- Should mentions of him be removed from the Sonic Forces article? If so, by whom? Ss0jse (talk) 14:10, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Best to discuss it at that talk page. Or just be bold and do it yourself and see if anyone objects (and if they do, follow WP:BRD and discuss on the talk page]]. Sergecross73 msg me 16:45, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- I have removed Ben Croshaw from the Sonic Forces article. Ss0jse (talk) 19:20, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- I've undone that removal because of my bias in favor of Sonic Forces. Ss0jse (talk) 20:06, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
