This road is in terrible condition. A year or two ago, I saw an interview (may have been with The Everyday Astronaut) where Elon Musk said he's working with local authorities to get it repaved. This road is highly trafficked by construction vehicles going in and out of Starbase. I believe SpaceX funded repavement for part of it, but the majority is still in desperate need of repair.
