Comparison chart
It would be interesting to see a chart comparing the profiles of the various -max capacities. -- Beland (talk) 17:49, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Beam maximum
Widest beam allowed acoording to this article is 50m but the Ever Given who just ran aground is 58m wide?----Bancki (talk) 10:59, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- I was about to come to the talk page about that! there's actually text in the article suggesting that the absolute maximum widest beam is 70 something meters, but there's a limit based on some sort of area measurement, thus depending on the draft. The Ever Given has more draft than would permit the widest beam, but without running the math I think the product of the draft and beam still fits and it wasn't over the permissible size. I'm a complete novice about ships though, so I'm not sure exactly what form the correction should take. --Ullpianissimo (talk) 03:38, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
