Obvious question unanswered
What does the "20 cwt" refer to? Gene Nygaard 22:43, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- I have expanded the introduction to explain this. Feel free to improve the explanation if it is not clear. The purpose of these gun articles is to make the technical details accessible to everybody in as simple language as possible, so feedback on the explanations is always good. Another obvious question unanswered
What does "QF" signify? DuncanHill (talk) 22:38, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
Weight
The article says "20 cwt referred to the weight of the barrel and breech, to differentiate it from other "3 inch" guns (1 cwt = 1 hundredweight = 112 lb, hence the barrel and breech together weighed 2250 lb" - but 20cwt, or 20x112 lb, is 2240 lb. DuncanHill (talk) 22:41, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
- I've changed it to 2240 lb. DuncanHill (talk) 22:43, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
