Phonologist?
I'm glad to have a Wikipedia article, but the disambiguating term "Phonologist" is not of my choosing. I hesitate to try to change this myself, but would be grateful if I could be labelled "Phonetician" instead. RoachPeter (talk) 08:06, 27 March 2017 (UTC)

Peter Roach (phonologist) → Peter Roach (phonetician) – Phonology is only a peripheral interest in my career, which has been principally as a phonetician RoachPeter (talk) 19:56, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- I think this could be done as a non-controversial technical move, suggest next editor moves and closes. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:15, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- I see that Peter Roach was a Professor of Phonetics, so "phonetician" seems suitable.
- Nobody has objected to the proposal in a week.
In view of those two facts I shall make the move. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:53, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Academic job title - capitals
Some time ago someone changed capital letters to lower case in the titles of posts I have held. I made no objection at the time, but I notice that this change is out of line with the practice followed in similar articles. See for example Clive Upton, John Local, A C Gimson, Jane Setter, David Abercrombie, Frank R Palmer etc. I have reinstated the capital letters. RoachPeter (talk) 14:21, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

Help
Please help me with... Peter Roach (Phonetician) I am not clear about the current status of this article. It was flagged as needing additional references. When I saw this, I found some suitable references, but made the mistake of trying to add them myself. That resulted in the article being flagged as having been edited by a person with a conflict of interest. I attempted to remove the references. Subsequently, in response to my requests, an editor added references to the article. So the article does now contain more references, but is still marked as having multiple issues. I really need guidance on what now can be done to make the article acceptable. RoachPeter (talk) 15:16, 3 July 2023 (UTC) RoachPeter (talk) 15:16, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, Peter. In my opinion there was no justification at all for the conflict of interest tag on the article, as your editing was not controversial or problematic, so I have removed the tag. Likweise I have removed the tag asking for more references, as there seem to be enough of them now, whether or not there were when that tag was added. JBW (talk) 20:32, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for clearing this up. RoachPeter (talk) 11:06, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
