• Support - I believe it's a better standard to use the date or year before the disaster or event itself. This is how the January 2025 Southern California wildfires are described, and I think this move would be an improvement. PickleG13 (talk) 00:09, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

• Oppose — There's plenty of reason to think it should be a proper noun, the name of the fire—the Palisades Fire—is a proper noun. Wildfires in the United States are named by the dispatching authorities and retain that name for their whole "lives" (NPR article on the practice, NYT article on the same).
