Notability concern

Currently], none of the sources used in the article support notability. I didn't find any significant coverage in independent reliable sources, but only did a quick search, so hopefully someone interested in the topic can dig deeper and find evidence of notability. they are all from the official sites Charliephere (talk) 18:14, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's the problem, @Charliephere. Notability relies on coverage from independent sources, not related to the subject of the article. Also, user-generated content is not considered a reliable source (such as Project Pokemon). Schazjmd (talk) 18:17, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
but who would know better about the features of a tool than the people who made it? Charliephere (talk) 18:21, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Charliephere, please read Wikipedia:Notability. Schazjmd (talk) 18:31, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll find some other sources, i still think this is a bit weird tho, considering that Ive used the official github etc for sources on objective truths like what the program actually does and what language it is programmed in Charliephere (talk) 18:44, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Charliephere, just because something exists doesn't mean it's notable enough for a Wikipedia article. Schazjmd (talk) 20:48, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
PKHeX is very popular, I think it is notable enough for a wiki page, knowledge is knowledge and should always be preserved and documented Charliephere (talk) 21:41, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Charliephere: We only cover notable things so that the site is manageable and not covered in spam. For something to be notable, it must have received significant coverage from multiple reliable sources that aren't affiliated with the thing itself. YouTube and fan wikis are not reliable sources under the Wikipedia definition. QuicoleJR (talk) 01:25, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
it has been covered on multiple platforms, it's an online peice of software so it's not exactly in any newspapers... Charliephere (talk) 10:01, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
YouTube, GitHub, and fan wikis do not count. What other platforms has it been on? Also, newspapers includes online-only news sites like IGN or Polygon. QuicoleJR (talk) 16:59, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ive been adding news sites as sources Charliephere (talk) 20:36, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
