Merged to HALO!???

This merge and redirect is stupid, it's a DOA character, not a HALO character. It should appear on List of characters in the Dead or Alive series , not Characters of Halo . Infact, why does a DOA redirect even redirect to a HALO page?

Per my talk page, comments left by a Halo related user, I am restoring this article. 65.94.252.195 (talk) 11:38, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RfC - what should happen to this article?

Per discussion on my talk page at User_talk:65.94.252.195#Nicole_(DoA_Character)

We are not in agreement as to what should happen to this article, and we do understand the lameness of our argument.

This article is about Nicole, SPARTAN-458. SPARTANs are the IP of Bungie Studios, and this fictional character is designed by Bungie, and its design is derived from concepts of the Halo universe. However this character only appears in the Dead Or Alive / Ninja Gaiden fictional universe, and only appears in the game Dead Or Alive 4.

Should this article

  1. stay an independent article
  2. merge into List of characters in the Dead or Alive series
  3. merge into Characters of Halo
  4. merge into both the Halo list and the DOA list
  5. merge into Bungie Studios
  6. some other sort of merge
  7. be deleted

If this is merged, should the pages Nicole (Dead or Alive), Nicole (Dead or Alive character), Nicole (DOA)

  1. become a dab page between the two character lists
  2. redirect to the Halo list
  3. redirect to the DOA list
  4. redirect to Dead or Alive 4
  5. redirect to Bungie Studios

Discussion

I have no issues with the article being merged or not, but if it *is* merged then my vote goes with the DOA article - logically a playable character from the game should appear in that article, regardless of her origins - unless she plays a more prominent role in the origin, which she doesn't. a_man_alone (talk) 09:08, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As I've said, I have no idea why it was merged simply into the Halo article rather than both, but there were probably reasons for it. However, if this character is re-added to the Halo article, I'll be deleting it anyway, so that problem is solved. Thinking about it, the redirects should then go to DOA, but leave this open for a bit longer, hope the person who made the original merge notices and tells us their reasoning. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 14:55, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should remain an independent article. There is clearly enough referenced info for an article. Why should it be merged? James086Talk | Email 17:41, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because there was only one reception reference (the second is from Microsoft themselves, making it invalid as a third party reference). I went ahead and restored the redirect. If you want to discuss it, your best bet would probably be to take it up with WT:VG as that would give a much larger forum to work with. (Note: I didn't do the actual merge, pretty sure that was User:David Fuchs).--Kung Fu Man (talk) 12:50, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I undid your redirect this time. The character doesn't exist on the Halo page any more. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 14:24, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Remedied that, it now points at the DoA character list and the info from this article is merged into it. Not sure what happened in between there, it was on the Halo character list (for some reason).--Kung Fu Man (talk) 19:17, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted her on the Halo list a while ago, per a long debate talk page about non-recurring character. I eventually pulled out of the argument, urged everyone else to do the same, and wiped a quarter of the article. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 19:45, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
