mental and physical realm rather than human mind and body?
shouldn’t the problem be defined as between the mental and physical realm rather than the human mind and body?
New content
Mind as an emergent functionality is another alternative model that tends to go beyond the age old dichotomy of dualism and monism, "The mental is the teleofunctional global state of the complex dynamic system of brain. The mind is an emergent functional reality or functionality that has a top-down causal role. Different mental states are functional states that are correlated with the functional organizational patterns in the brain. Complex organization of nervous system relates to the external world through the interface of the emergent functional entity of mind as a working whole."[1] has just been added to the Theoretical framework section. Could someone explain to me what it actually says? I'm sorry, but it just seems to be a bunch of buzz words strung together. Donald Albury17:23, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On further thought, I have removed the above material from the article. If anyone wants to re-add the material to the article, IMO, they need to rewrite it in their own words at a level intelligible to the typical encyclopedia reader. - Donald Albury18:34, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And, I now see the book was published by Amazon in 2021. The only hit I found for the title on Google Scholar was at Philpapers.org, where it was uploaded November 19, 2024. So, it looks to me like it doesn't qualify as a reliable source, and cannot be used as a source for this article. - Donald Albury18:50, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
