"Lorraine Daston, a visiting professor in UChicago’s John U. Nef Committee on Social Thought and the Department of History, has been awarded the Dan David Prize for her achievements in the research of the history of science.
The annual award, which includes a $1 million prize, recognizes scholars for innovative and interdisciplinary research in technological, scientific, social or cultural fields covering the past, present and future. Daston said she was in “disbelief but delighted beyond measure” to be recognized."

The awards that are mentioned are also somewhat odd. For example, the German Federal Cross of Merit is awarded to an extremely large number of people, while the "Pour le Merite" is highly exclusive. --2A02:908:F82:DCE0:CCCD:EC71:10D0:F242 (talk) 08:50, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Bibliography
I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. This is a work in progress; feel free to continue.
