I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: I had wondered whether 'spurious inventions' was quite the right term, as most of these seems to be hoaxes. However, the less pejorative 'spurious' is slightly broader and less contentious - an appropriate choice. It's likely that this list could be significantly expanded.
