Antarctic versus subantarctic glaciers

I don't mean to nitpick, but if we are defining Antarctica as any latitude further south than 60º, then why would these glaciers be included on this list?

Perhaps we should consider one of the following options:

  1. redefine the geographical parameters of this list
  2. change the name of the list to something like List of Antarctic and subantarctic glaciers
  3. eliminate the glaciers in question from this list, and perhaps start a new list entitled List of subantarctic glaciers

My preferred option would be option #3, and we could include a link from the List of glaciers in the Antarctic article. I would be happy to start this article, if you agree with my proposal.

Thanks for the observation. You are right. I support you in starting a list of subantarctic glaciers if you have the time to do it justice. On another matter, this is an incomplete list and only really contains certain types of notable glaciers that have wikipedia articles anyway. It is far from trivial to complete the list and it starts to hinge on questions of glaciological definitions and naming conventions. Polargeo (talk) 10:51, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  1. I have just expanded the Subantarctic article, including (among other topics) a section entitled List of subantarctic glaciers. The newly expanded article included links to List of glaciers in the Antarctic, and vice-versa. Check it out when you get the opportunity.
  2. I can easily add many more glaciers to the List of glaciers in the Antarctic list. Should I add only glaciers that have existing articles, or should I add all glaciers (including redlinks)?
