Title

Move to List of South American tropical cyclones (ie, adjectival form)? But perhaps later, not while its on the main page. Sgt Pinback 19:57, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, but the rest of the List of XXX tropical cyclones pages have the area as a noun, not as an adjective. Examples include List of West Africa hurricanes and List of Hawaii hurricanes. The reason why we maybe shouldn't do it is because there's no common adjectival form for some places, like New Jersey, California, and Florida. Imagine List of Floridian hurricanes. --Hurricanehink (talk) 20:00, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever. Sounded odd to me, but I wasn't aware of the other articles using that format. I don't hang around hurricane/cyclone articles much. Sgt Pinback 20:23, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, ok. Thanks for the feedback, though. --Hurricanehink (talk) 20:26, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. (And sorry if that "whatever" sounded more dismissive than I intended which, reading back, it might have done.) Sgt Pinback 21:11, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, ok :) Don't worry. --Hurricanehink (talk) 21:23, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of the precedents above, I think all these articles should be named List of tropical cyclones in X, because in X is becoming standard for landforms and other natural features. --Dhartung | Talk 10:28, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you think that should be the case, we are having a discussion at the Tropical Cyclone Wikiproject regarding what to do with the list of X pages. --Hurricanehink (talk) 12:33, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
