People's House Project and a Return to Television

In May, 2017, Ball announced the formation of The People's House Project, a political action committee to support middle- and working-class candidates in the Midwest and Appalachian states. The People's House Project enjoys the support of several members of Congress, including Tim Ryan (D-Ohio), John Yarmuth, (D-Kentucky), and Ro Khanna (D-California). [1]

Ball is the President of The People's House Project. [2]

In January, 2018, Capitol Hill Publishing Corporation announced that Ball had been hired to develop and co-host an online morning show for TheHill.com. [3] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CD3E:F1B0:6CA7:E6F5:D728:AE3F (talk) 17:02, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reindeer should go back in

I disagree with this edit https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Krystal_Ball&type=revision&diff=904109776&oldid=904109708

(1) It got extensive media coverage in WP:RS at the time, and under the guideline WP:WEIGHT, it should be represented in the article in proportion to its coverage.

(2) Ball herself responded to it extensively, and used it as a lesson in how to deal with embarrassing photos that were taken when you were younger. [1] and many others.

(3) "this really doesn't seem encyclopedically necessary" is not a reason under WP policies and guidelines to delete something.

In addition, I think it's now more significant because of the Franken photo, but I don't have a WP policy or guideline to support that. --Nbauman (talk) 22:41, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Selected BLP links: Do no harm and per BLPGOSSIP not exactly relevant to a disinterested article about the subject. The topic itself (not the removed text) should be covered, I'm aware of a 2019 Rising video in solidarity with Katie Hill (politician), and your 2015 source (Cosmopolitan interview by Jill Filipovic) is arguably a "must have", but no details about the silly private photos. –84.46.53.116 (talk) 18:09, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

McClatchy

Do we really need two huge McClatchy block quotes for this issue? It looks slightly UNDUE for me, or rather unbalanced in relation to the size of this biography.
The fact (singular) appears to be simple enough, she created a PAC and used a (notable) part of the donations in the first year to sponsor her own work. Does this PAC still exist? –84.46.52.187 (talk) 18:00, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Krystal & Kyle dating

I'm surprised nobody has made the edits to this page or to Kyle Kulinski yet, but they are confirmed as a couple and even made cute Valentine's Day posts on Twitter — Tha†emoover†here (talk) 23:15, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. It's been added multiple times and reverted. It's being discussed at BLPN in this thread. The consensus seems to be that a photo of them kissing isn't enough. Would likely need a clear statement such as "we're in a relationship". The fact that she's probably still married increases our level of caution too, due to WP:BLPGOSSIP. Hope that helps. –Novem Linguae (talk) 23:24, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
On a recent episode of her show "Breaking Points", Krystal refers to Kyle as her boyfriend. The segment is titled
"Anna Khachiyan: Russophobia Is The Latest Liberal Activism | Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar"
At the 11:00 mark, she brings up that clips from Kyle's show were recently posted to the Breaking Points YouTube channel and that it was not her idea, but Sagaar's. Then she remarks "Everyone would think 'oh, of course Krystal is bringing her boyfriend onto the channel'" 2603:6081:3D03:584B:43:96BE:A33C:5D27 (talk) 15:44, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In case the anonymous info wasn't enough, here's Kyle with his friend Corin saying "I'm gonna be a stepdad", "we told everybody" about the Krystal relationship. hereLenkense (talk) 00:15, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's still not enough. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:18, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's absolutely astounding how dense Wikipedia jannies are. There is literally a photo of them kissing and several videos in which they mention their relationship and y'all are like "nah they themselves are not legitimate sources for talking about their own relationship" LMAOOOOOOOOO. 67.162.123.162 (talk) 01:59, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Saagar Enjeti

Currently Saagar Enjeti redirects to this article. Is this OK? 2803:9800:9843:8DCC:1AD:2A3C:1ADA:D8A6 (talk) 01:03, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have a strong opinion on this. Do you have any other redirect targets in mind? –Novem Linguae (talk) 02:51, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think we should have Saagar's page redirect to Krystal's. In my view we should either leave his page as a redlink tentatively until he has significant third party coverage or possibly redirect to Rising. Ornithoptera (talk) 19:56, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Controversies Section: Views on assault,Will Smith/Chris Rock incident

Being that Krystal was one of extraordinarily few public figures to come out in support of Will Smith's actions against Chris Rock, and that she has taken an explicit principled stance that physical violence/assault can be "proportionate" to a verbal insult or poorly-made joke, it seems that it is important that this information should be added, as well has how vehemently her audience on youtube, twitter, and reddit denounced her revealed stance. The reddit thread discussing her views is the most upvoted of the month and already in the top 30 for the entire year: https://www.reddit.com/r/BreakingPoints/comments/tqe553/krystal_states_that_slapping_is_not_assault_and/ Wikiplants (talk) 19:19, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Any news coverage of this by a reliable source such as a WP:NEWSORG? (please provide link) That'd be the first step to getting this added. Asking for this kind of citation is a good way to keep a pundit's article from becoming an unbalanced list of hot takes that dominates the article. –Novem Linguae (talk) 19:39, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That is a good point. Being that Krystal is not a major celebrity and that the main stream media is not really interested in her views, I am not really seeing any news source covering her stance, which is not too surprising (original video/source from Breaking points: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gKCFc-QL84 ).
I would say, and based on the reaction of her audience, that this incident falls significantly outside the norm of what could be considered other hot takes, diverges significantly from popular opinion (one need only look at the fact that only five people ever have been expelled from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in its entire history), and how strongly her audience has reacted (highly unusual) for how at odds it is with her other stances.
I have not seen as strong a reaction from her audience in all her times at Rising or Breaking Points. I suppose it is subjective as to whether it is important enough to merit addition (perhaps regardless of the disinterest of the mainstream media in the opinions of a minor public figure?) or whether it constitutes just another hot take? Wikiplants (talk) 20:00, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If there isn't a WP:RS, then it isn't even WP:NOTNEWS. It's a talking head talking. It's what they do. (And I've seen a lot of pro-Will takes, not that out there.) – Muboshgu (talk) 20:03, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
