Dam

I deleted the word 'dam.' I am no expert on construction, but don't dams hold something back? This has the sea on both sides. Paul, in Saudi 17:27, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Viaducts

Article claim 2 viaducts on the way (without sources), but structurae claims 5 viaducts with exact informations. Can someone clarify situation? --Jklamo 01:55, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Using GoogleEarth i verified, that structurae datas are correct and i modified article according that. --Jklamo 02:37, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name

I think it should be renamed to King Fahad Causeway, I also have a photo taken on the bridge it self, let me know if you want me to upload it. Radiant guy (talk) 22:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion cost query

The figure given of $5.3m for a major project expansion as described above seems oddly low -- whatever the 'local newspapers' cited may reportedly be cited quoting! Note, meanwhile, that another regional media source reported the preliminary estimated headline project cost to be Saudi riyals 1.06bn. Causeway? Or a (low) bridge?

Is it a causeway, like a dyke, or a bridge near the sea surface? 14.0.208.87 (talk) 00:15, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is a combination of multiple bridges and causeways. --Jklamo (talk) 00:25, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Construction details

The article claims the road "was built using 350,000 m3 (12,000,000 cu ft) of concrete along with 47,000 metric tonnes of reinforced steel." What is "reinforced steel"? The author is probably thinking of reinforcement steel, but arguable not all the steel in the bridge is used for reinforcement of concrete. ehn (talk) 15:19, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
