The Article says "he lived for two thousand years in three different palaces" and he "died at the age of forty thousand years".
Is the last meant to be the time on some scale when he had died?

Yes, there is no definite beginning point for the numbering. There is also a list of "six ancient buddhas", in which Kassapa appears as the 6th.—Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?)22:09, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
