Should we put the JFKennedy in it?

I think it would be a good idea to add the JFKennedy word into the article and not just the other name as mentioned before. GenerationZ2024 (talk) 00:50, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Where would it go? I've seen the guy referred to by his initials (JFK) and as John F. Kennedy, but never JFKennedy until you posted that here. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 02:57, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i heard people call him jfkennedy are you really silly? 216.73.71.81 (talk) 19:14, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Might be worth adding as a redirect, although maybe not in the article body itself. CitationsFreak (talk) 10:09, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Redirect created, thanks for the suggestion GenerationZ2024 and CitationsFreak. Randy Kryn (talk) 10:25, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

abrha why

wtf does abrha mean? Fefehrthyh (talk) 17:10, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It appears to have just been stray text added to the top of this page by accident, and either way has been removed. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 21:27, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Children

The info box claims JFK had 4 children. Hmmm. What is Wikipedia's policy on counting still-borns? IF the policy is to include still-borns, how about miscarriages? Anyway, the fact that Arabella was stillborn and Patrick lived only 2 days and that only Caroline is alive today (Jr died at 38 in '99) is material, imho.98.17.180.146 (talk) 16:57, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Arrgh! I forgot to add: if it's policy to include stillborns, (even if it is only based on the mother's religious beliefs), then her name ought to be included along with her siblings. Back then "life begins at birth" wasn't as controversial as it is today.98.17.180.146 (talk) 17:00, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Stillbirths DO count as children, regardless of religious affiliations. Miscarriages are medically not the same thing and (as far as I know) have never been counted towards one's children totals. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 17:03, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

JFK involved in Meyer's death? As my old History teacher would have said - "explain, please"

Quote from this article: "There have been several conspiracy theories surrounding the deaths of Monroe and Meyer, alleging that Kennedy may have had a part in their deaths." I must confess, this one has me baffled. JFK was assassinated in November 1963. But Meyer died (albeit in mysterious circumstances) in October 1964 so I'm not sure how Kennedy could be involved in Meyer's death? BarlickKid1966 (talk) 18:43, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the Meyer part here given the time discrepancy you mention, plus it wasn't supported by the attributed reference, though it does mention Monroe conspiracy theories involving him. Not sure who added the former or why. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 18:49, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The wording is poor as it seems to imply that Kennedy was a participant in her Meyer's murder which isn't exactly what the conspiracy theories state. The conspiracy theories all involve the idea that she knew something through her relationship with Kennedy, and she was killed to be kept quiet. Many theories abound as to what exactly she knew. In that sense, Kennedy may have played a role (not as a participant but as a motivating factor) in her death according to these theories. It probably should be modified to avoid confusion.4meter4 (talk) 18:58, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Either way, the given source doesn't elaborate on those and just vaguely states Meyer's death "has often been associated with JFK-related conspiracy theories" without any resolution on what exactly happened. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 19:15, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Association with Stanford in the infobox

Looping in @SNUGGUMS to this one to discuss views. Currently JFK’s infobox does not include his time studying at Stanford University. I had added it in to be consistent with other high-profile pages that are affiliated with both Harvard and Stanford such as Bill Gates and Steve Balmer; however SNUGGUMS reverted the edit and said “ Not worth including [Stanford] when he dropped out, especially when there's another place the guy graduated from that's more prominent to his history, also that alumni category gives a false impression JFK graduated from there.” I think we should discuss this given it is a consistency question. Editchecker123 (talk) 23:27, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For what it's worth, I wouldn't add this for Steve either when he also dropped out with no degree, and same goes for Bill with Harvard. Just because other pages make faulty choices doesn't mean we should replicate them here. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 23:44, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a WP guidance doc on this topic that would demonstrate leaving the education out of the infobox like this is a faulty choice? Editchecker123 (talk) 02:47, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Template:Infobox_person#Parameters indicates that it is usually excluded for non-graduates. Nikkimaria (talk) 03:00, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It specifically notes an exception for Bill Gates, and even has an illustration of (a version of) the infobox for that article! Great minds think alike! Bruce leverett (talk) 04:45, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
