Hello. I am a survivor of Hurricane Andrew. I have several conflicting accounts of how many persons were "killed" as a result of Andrew. The key is differentiating between deaths caused as a "direct result" of Andrew and other casualties related to secondary events (i.e. mortal injuries as a result of the storm vs. deaths caused by the aftermath). If you can disambiguate between the sources of the "fatalities" as a result of Hurricane Andrew, it would be helpful (even to me, and I lived in Perrine, Dade County). Considering the weight of casualty statistics, it is advisable to research and cite sources regarding casualties as a 'result' of Andrew. Respectfully submitted, Jason. Despite the intensity of the storm at landfall, the article is pretty short, with its page length being 13k bytes and 1,126 words (including the lead). • Leaning oppose, I'm not sure about what you mean by the size. Andrew's article is already 8,600 words. That's at the length where I wouldn't want to add much more. Plus, Andrew is already a featured article.   The impacts section in the Bahama article is 7,537 bytes while the Bahama section is 5,624, which would be 15k at most, assuming both sections do not contain the same information, which is highly unlikely. I believe it would realistically be somewhere between 7k-10k bytes. Also, the size of the Florida aftermath, and possibly the Florida impacts, is the main reason why the article is so long. If it's allowed, I believe we can just trim both sections to allow room for the Bahamas article. _ZZ^Z'S 00:24, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Remove "Lieutenant" from the Florida section.

The Florida section states, "Lieutenant Governor Lawton Chiles considered asking the Florida Legislature to raise taxes..."
