Orphaned references in Hamas war crimes
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Hamas war crimes's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "baed":
- From Use of human shields by Hamas: Beres, Louis René. "Hamas Terror Attacks and International Law." Jurist, 9 October 2023, edited by Ingrid Burke Friedman.
- From War crimes in the Israel–Hamas war: Beres, Louis René. "Hamas Terror Attacks and International Law. Archived 2023-12-04 at the Wayback Machine" Jurist, October 9, 2023, edited by Ingrid Burke Friedman.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. Feel free to remove this comment after fixing the refs. AnomieBOT⚡ 06:06, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
Possible OR at "Second Intifada"
There is a table of Hamas bombings at "Second Intifada". Is there a source for every entry alleging it to be a war crime? If not, the unsourced entries should be removed. VR (Please ping on reply) 20:36, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- It’s well established and cited in the article that the general targeting of civilians (particularly in the use of suicide attacks) and use of indiscriminate attacks are widely regarded to be war crimes.
- The general criteria is already established by sources above on the page - each individual instance that fall under those established parameters does not need further attribution. Mistamystery (talk) 20:44, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- Specifically:
- Human Rights Watch has declared that the "scale and systematic nature" of Hamas' targeting of Israeli civilians "meet the definition of a crime against humanity", and that its particular use of suicide bombings taking "place in the context of violence that amounts to armed conflict...are also war crimes."[1]
- and
- According to Amnesty International, "the campaign of suicide bombings and deliberate attacks against Israeli civilians by Hamas and other armed groups constitutes crimes against humanity.[2] Mistamystery (talk) 20:48, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

Accused
Use of the word "accused" ignores the fact that Hamas admits to and is proud of most, if not all of its crimes. 174.67.226.163 (talk) 04:45, 25 May 2024 (UTC)

Hamas war crimes → Palestinian militant war crimes – Reasons:
- Other groups (PIJ, PFLP, etc.) commit many of the same crimes, such as taking civilian hostages and bombing civilian targets.
- WP:CONSISTENT - Other war crimes pages are grouped by country or by war, e.g. United States war crimes or War crimes in the Syrian civil war, not a single political faction or military unit, even Nazi war crimes redirects to German war crimes.
- But "militant" should be included to clearly distinguish from the State of Palestine or Palestinian Authority, because in English sources those usually mean the Ramallah-based Abbas government (or other concepts that exclude Hamas).

- Suggest alternative move to Palestinian war crimes per wp:concise. The article title Palestinian war crimes currently redirects here and always has since its recent creation in May. These other bodies (State of Palestine or Palestinian Authority) presumably don't commit such crimes; If they did, that would suggest that they were militant groups themselves. However assuming it's true and verifiable that Other groups (PIJ, PFLP, etc.) commit many of the same crimes as claimed above then these should be included in the scope of this article.
