Talk:Finborough School

[Untitled]

Please refrain from adding the attempted 'Derek Slade - About Me' section onto this page. That information is not all relevant to Finborough School, and none of it is backed up by solid evidence. edwardchelski 16:00, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you cannot pretend it didnt happen. ref derek slade —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.207.2.68 (talk) 22:12, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's probably no denying that it happened, but the long spiele that continues for an age is irrelevant, unnecessary and not in the format one sees on wikiepdia. Create a seperate Derek Slade page if the passion is such - I must say I would be rather interested! jmac2905

The Author of this article has failed to give all the factual information regarding the founding of the School. Although St Georges/Finborough School (Investigated by Roger Cook's Checkpoint Programme) was Founded by the infamous Derek Slade (Later convicted November 1986 for Actual Bodily Harm on two boy Pupils at Chichester Crown Court) - Mr John Sinclair who is described as taking over the school after Derek Slade left in 1983 in fact was the owner of the School from the start and attended the founding ceremony and other such events regularly.Couerdelyon (talk) 12:58, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok that's interesting. I was under the impression that Mr John Sinclair had only been the bursar at the start, working under Derek Slade, and that he bought the school in 1983. But i wasn't even born then, so you might know better! I am aware of certain convictions that Slade received, however i think that including that information would be unfair on the school and the current leadership. edwardchelski 18:43, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway, you're making it sound rather like a deliberate ploy to avoid giving all the facts, which is not the case. I can only write what i know. edwardchelski 19:42, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Any further appropriate information for addition to the Finborough School page would be very welcome, perhaps from any ex-pupils or former teachers? :) Thanks. edwardchelski 19:46, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To whom it may concern, this page is not meant to be an advert for Simon Warr. Thanks. edwardchelski 13:30, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Location

Am I right that this school was originally located in the former St George's workhouse in Wincklewood? DiverScout (talk) 17:11, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The published facts indicate that this is the case. If it is not so, please could someone explain on here prior to/consecutive to deleting the content. Although this is a very unpleasant shadow on the school's history (and no doubt has no bearing on the current running of the place) it is notable, and unless it can be shown that the two establishments are not the same it has to be included. How is this anything but unnotable trivia, suitable for Facebook but not an encyclopedic article [1]? --NeilN talk to me 20:57, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
