Major Ribas-Dominicci was not a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. First, his name does not appear in the USAFA Register of Graduates. Second, the article states that he entered the Academy as a second lieutenant, after finishing ROTC. This simply does not happen. You graduate from the Academy as a second lieutenant--you don't (and as far as I know, you aren't allowed to) enter as one. Please cite a reference if you have information to the contrary. Tarfu92, you know you're right. I did some research and couldn't find a source myself. The only thing that I found was in the official wedsite of the City of Arecibo whcih states that he graduated with the rank of second lieutenant form ROTC: "Teniente Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Se graduó de Ingenieron Civil en el C.A.A.M., de Mayagüez, con su grado se Segundo Teniente del R.O.T.C. Se destacó en la Base Cannon, de Nuevo México, como piloto del avión de combate F-111. Perdió la vida en un bombardeo en Libia.". Thank you for pointing this out. People like you make this project much better. Tony the Marine18:43, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your points are well taken and probably true. I, having worked with the both of these pilots, and respecting each. I remember receiving the word in the Command Post that they were gone and want to remember how they were and what they stood for versus any misqoutes that may have been published. Sincerly - Mark G.
