Inactive?
There seems to be no real progress with Penelope, for months. And no real progress in making Thunderbird compatible with Eudora-style attachments (separate files). So Eudora users seem to just be stuck.-69.87.200.164 15:58, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Lacking?
Gone are the days of a REAL user's manual. The folks at Mozilla might want to READ the Eudora Classic User's Manuals to see what a REAL User's Manual looks like. Not some pages posted on Wiki showing the project. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.74.132.21 (talk) 04:20, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Clean-up?
This article is tagged for clean-up. What is needed? --DThomsen8 (talk) 15:00, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
Merger proposal
I propose that Eudora (email client)#Eudora OSE be merged into Eudora OSE. I think that the section of the first article largely repeats the content of the second article and is too detailed for a section with see also (leading to the second one through a redirect), creating unnecessary duplication and possibly leading to desyncing between the two. Any information taken from the section in the first article could easily be incorporated into the second article. 10:51, 29 December 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.246.55.155 (talk)
Not Dead
Eudora Classic (7.1.0.9) is running nicely on Windows 7. There is an active list group (http://www.listmoms.net/eudora-win/index.html) that supports it with former Qualcomm/Eudora employees participating. Don't think Eudora Classic can be written off yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Acarolinensis (talk • contribs) 00:43, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
- It's no longer supported by Qualcomm. There are no updates. It's a dead product, but this is a different product than Eudora OSE. Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:54, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Not in development
Classic Eudora users are not stuck, Eudora runs under Windows 8.1 and is reported to run under Windows 10. There is also a very active user group on a mail list Eudora for Windows <eudora-win@hades.listmoms.net>. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gomberg (talk • contribs) 04:18, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- Since no developers are working on the code, it is not in development. Qualcomm has not made the source code available so no open source version is available. That means it's not in development. It doesn't matter if it continues to run on Windows versions released in 2300, it's no longer being developed today. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:51, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
