Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... enough references from independent reliable sources to require a WP:AFD discussion. ---- 1Wiki8Q5G7FviTHBac3dx8HhdNYwDVstR (talk) 07:27, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

User:1Wiki8Q5G7FviTHBac3dx8HhdNYwDVstR can you expand as it looks like an COI advert to me, no prejudice against a rewrite when not WP:TOOSOON. (please reply at AfD). Widefox; talk 10:25, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

actual current definition of WP:GNG seems easily satisfied

So does WP:42, seem to be equally easily satisfied. So does the especially-strict WP:NSOFT (and WP:109PAPERS) seem easily satisfied, which are *guidelines* that suggest counting each burst of coverage as 'one' single source.

I stopped after the first hundred hits or so on WP:GOOG at bing.com via yahoo's collation ... probably these are just the MAJOR and easily available WP:SOURCES that WP:ANYONE could dig up with a few minutes of effort... per WP:CHOICE of course. So depending on how strictly we count, that's either eight sources by coverage-burst, or by publisher-count, or something like 42 sources by the usual method of counting each URL once. WP:42 does *not* mean 42 sources are needed, but in this case, we do seem to actually have that many. Wiki-tradition is that three WP:SOURCES is enough to satisfy WP:GNG, if memory serves. 75.108.94.227 (talk) 16:36, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing on current business model

As per subject, the article contains nothing on how it makes money. There are no fees to transfer money (in, out, or between users), foreign exchange is done at mid-market rates, and it's no longer holding onto people's bitcoins. Presumably there is a revenue stream somewhere. Lovingboth (talk) 08:16, 21 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sold to Chinese Investor

it says here the company has been sold by circle to Chinese investors, it is no longer a US company. https://cointelegraph.com/news/tron-founder-justin-sun-admits-investment-in-crypto-exchange-poloniex

Please find a reliable source. Coindesk and Cointelegraph are not reliable sources for Wikipedia. Retimuko (talk) 05:36, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing Article

Would be great if a knowledgeable person could rewrite the overview section and make clear what the company currently does. Past activities could be placed into a History section. From reading it seems the company is a peer-to-peer (fiat) money transfer service. Except later on it says it abandoned that. Or that it was a cryptocurrency wallet and/or transfer service, except that it then says it moved away from crypto. And then moved back into crypto. And that maybe it's owned by the Chinese, but it's based in Boston. Or something. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cellmaker (talk • contribs) 12:19, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lawsuit

I saw that in 2022 a significant patent infringement lawsuit was launched against Circle. Is this something that should be added to the entry at this stage? Or maybe only if it evolves further? Not sure what the standard is for lawsuits in general. Criticism section

I am curious what other editors think of the "Criticism" section on this page. It seems like it is only promoting Matt Taibbi and his article rather than explaining the business practices of Circle? Is this content necessary? Or does this section need to be expanded? BridgeCityBoyz (talk) 16:10, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
