Proposed merge with Bible translations into Ladakhi
Suggested at AfD JMHamo (talk) 17:32, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
Balti is a language within Pakistan. I wonder if the Indian government would appreciate the suggestion that Ladakhi should be included with a language of Pakistan or Pakistan appreciate the suggestion Balti be included with Ladakhi (a language of India). There has been wars between India and Pakistan over the Ladakh Territory. The history of the Balti translation has no historical connection with that of Ladakhi. Ladakh Bible (talk) 03:06, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
Ladakhi people don't consider themselves as Balti nor Balti people consider themselves as part of the Ladakhi people. The languages are considerably different so much that Ladakhi people will not be able to understand Balti nor Balti Ladakhi. Another thing to consider is their histories have been separate since the time Pakistan took over Baltistan. Balti and Purki languages are much closer than Ladakhi. If any thoughts of joining any material together then Purik and Balti would be better fit than Ladakhi and Balti Ladakh Bible (talk) 04:34, 9 October 2016 (UTC).
