I thought I'd document here where the death details come from, as it's within a huge spreadsheet. The French have issued death data for their whole population, it seems. I've helped myself to "Fichier des décès - années 1990 à 1999" (i.e. "Death file - years 1990 to 1999"). That Zip file contains ten spreadsheets and I have imported the CSV file for 1997. The table below shows line 445,905:

Not entirely sure how the last two columns translate to something useful, but given that we've got a Bernard Batillat with the correct birth date, we now also have his middle name and his death date. And that he was born in Coullons, which at the time presumably had the postal code 45108 (it's now 45720 according to Wikidata). And if 94058 is the postal code of the place where he died, then this happened in Le Perreux-sur-Marne. Maybe a person who speaks French could confirm this. Schwede6604:09, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
