I noticed the picture displayed is actually a portrait of Emmanuel Arago by the painter Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant. Perhaps we should upload an actual portrait of the subject in question to avoid confusion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.159.115.23 (talk) 03:41, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

Should he be described as Swiss? His political life was spent in France. john k 21:58, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)
It's not necessary or correct to say that BC wasn't a 'radical right-wing libertarian' - this is an anachronism, quite apart from anything else being right-wing in his day still had its original meaning, i.e. it would have meant that he supported the ancien regime, not that he was a libertarian of any sort. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prlb2 (talk • contribs) 21:35, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Inclusion in WikiProject Libertarianism
Per WP:BRD this discussion is started to determine a WP:WikiProject inclusion is acceptable for Constant. I added {{WikiProject Libertainism}} to this talkpage and User:Excommunicato removed the Project as "unrelated". I reverted and pointed out that Constant is a figure in classical liberalism, a core component of libertarianism. Excommunicato reverted this addition. The revert said, basically, that libertarianism is not a part of the article. (There is no such requirement in WikiProject guidance.) Even so, Constant has an entry in the Cato Institute Encyclopedia of Libertarianism and in the Mises Institute biographical entry. Hence the connection between Constant and liberalism and libertarianism is established and supported by reliable sources. Moreover this is not a tangential connection. Inclusion of Constant in the WikiProject helps the WikiProject to "collaborat[e] on a particular topic area." Comments are welcome. – S. Rich (talk) 18:43, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
