The sandbox is very comprehensive in listing Arun Agrawall's accomplishments with cited sources. It also lists all his publications and positions held with great detail which I think is very well done. For the Background section and history of Arun though it is lacking significantly. Basically all I can draw from the Wikipedia page is that this man is very accomplished in his field of study, but I do not know him as a person. I do not know where he grew up, what his childhood was like, why he wanted to study political science and then switched to work in the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. I do not know anything about what he likes to do in his free time or what hobbies he has. I know nothing about his family from the Wikipedia. The future plans section should include what he wants to do with his research and how long he plans to continue on the path he is on now. Maybe even talk about if he has any desires for his children. These are all points that I hope your group can include when you interview Mr. Agrawall. As for the sandbox so far, I think the only major criticism I have is that all the information seems like it could have been pulled straight out of your references. If possible, maybe provide a one sentence summary on each publication and how he managed to get his awards. Possibly see how he was promoted or what works did he do that caused him to get a promotion. Wujoshua (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:56, 27 November 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Great job! I enjoyed reading your thorough and professional looking page. I like the content of the site and how the sections are ordered. All of the sections are very detailed and provided clear, (seemingly) unbiased information. I'm sure that after the interview with him more information will be added about his early life, hobbies, family, etc. - like Josh, I think it might be nice to hear more about these kinds of things to make the page more well rounded. I can add two more suggestions in addition to this one: 1. Make sure you take time to polish up the page and pay attention to details. I found several mistakes with punctuation and inconsistent punctuation throughout most of the sections. This is especially true with the citations. I know this is only the rough draft, but correct punctuation is something to look in the future. 2. In the Publications section I really liked the first two paragraphs about Agrawal's recent work. The lists of experiences and awards can appear a little long to the reader, so it's nice to break it up with some text. In addition to this, I would consider adding a paragraph about his publications in the big picture (maybe at the end of the section) that talks about how his research/interests have evolved and if/how they have inspired other researchers. It might be nice to have something like this at the end to tie everything together. Overall, great job! 9.5/10 Pkolesar (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:52, 27 November 2011 (UTC).[reply]

The site for Arun Agrawall looks really great. It is easy to tell that a great deal of research and consideration has already gone into this page and because the interview hasn’t even happened yet, I’m sure there will be much more to fill out on. After reading through the material presented I am left wondering all about Agrawall’s earlier life, which I’m sure will be included in the information gained from the personal interview. I hope the authors of this site will make a more personal appeal to the reader through describing more about what drives Agrawall, what made him interested in what he does and what were some key life moments that got him going toward environmental issues. Under the “Work History” section I think it would be interesting to add a little bit more description to the “Positions Held” portion, like in the “Field Experience.” Under each year in Field Experience there is mention of what Agrawall was doing in the field which I think would work with mentioning anything about what Agrawall did / gained from his experiences in different positions held. I would also like to see some more information about Agrawall’s time abroad. It seems that in his field experience he has traveled many places so giving more information on case studies Professor Agrawall has done could help fill out his page. The paper seems grammatically sound, besides a few missing commas. (Ahebner)

It is clear you guys did your homework! The lists of awards and accomplishments is impressive and shows that the team conducted extensive research prior to writing the sandbox. I agree with Josh and Paige that a background section with a little more personal information would be very nice to see, though not necessary or crucial for the page. Some of the sections need more of an introductory paragraph. Instead of just listing all the accomplishments give a brief summary on the type of work. Maybe some projects of his overlapped? For example, I see that many of these are based out of India so relate how that plays an important role in Arun's life work. It is important for the reader to understand what these projects mean and the overall theme. I think a lot of this will be cleared up after your interview with Professor Agrawall. Overall, I would grade the sandbox as is 8/10. I can see that you have the research you need, and after some more introductory and summary paragraphs in the sections are complete it will be much better. - Scott Landers

This page is VERY comprehensive in Arun Agrawal's work/field experience, his accomplishments and his publications. I guess an accurate evaluation for this page depends on the function that the authors want it to serve. If it is simply for reference, then the page is very user friendly and concise. However, its very hard for the reader to get an overall grasp on the professional, partially because the page-viewer likely is not going to independently research each of his awards or publications, and the intro and background lack that personal element that would help the reader construct Agrawal's character. It would be very helpful to distinguish which of his works/awards/jobs were his most notable based on field of research/prestige/length of stay respectively, for example. Write one to two sentences underneath these remarkable achievements and explain a little bit about why that particular achievement should stand out to the reader. It makes it easier to digest the information. Also, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, I think the authors should try and steer away from using too much romantic/emotional/biased language that praises him because it sounds less a factual article and more a critique or an argumentative essay at some points. For the most part, the group does a good job in maintaining the right tone, though. Also, since Agrawal works in the academic field, it could be interesting to add a little more to the education section -- what he did his thesis on, etc. Overall, factually thorough but needs execution that is more conducive to maintaining the reader's interest and helping them to get an accurate representation of the individual in focus. BLP edit, sourcing concerns

I've edited this article to address WP:BLP concerns, removing content that was unsourced, irrelevant, or of no apparent significance. Two sources I removed did not support anything in particular about the adjacent claims. Currently, there is no indication this subject passes general notability guidelines or any of the alternative criteria such as WP:ANYBIO or WP:PROFESSOR. Notability is best demonstrated through citing to substantial coverage by multiple unrelated reliable sources. Below are some links that might lead to such sources:

Following up: the scholar link, above, indicates some of his publications have been cited a large number of times, though I'm unable to come to any conclusions on the nature and quality of those cites (cf. WP:PROFESSOR). Though some publications have been reviewed (e.g. [1]), they don't seem to merit an encyclopedic biography for the author (cf. WP:AUTHOR). Otherwise I'm finding very little...
