Talk:2004 enlargement of the European Union

Merge

We need to pull data in here, I suggest brining in Accession of Poland to the European Union to this article to bring the data together. Poland was the largest of these and hence the areas overlap a tad. I suggest the same for the Romania and Bulgaria articles so we have a 2004 and 2007 article, then maybe ones for the previous enlargements if we have the data.- J.Logan`t: 15:09, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Having done this should we perhaps rename the article to somthing like the "Fifth enlargement of the European Union" as it deals with Bulgaria and Romania who joined not in 2004, but in 2007. Further more according to the official website of the European Commission, the signature of the Accession Treaty of Romania and Bulgaria "marks the completion of the fifth enlargement of the EU". Consequently, the enlargement in 2004 was only the first part of the Fifth Enlargement.P.Marlow (talk) 16:30, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Move

2004 enlargement of the European UnionFifth enlargement of the European Union — No space has been added by the IP who added the move request, but I would oppose it as 2004 enlargement of the European Union is much clearer. YeshuaDavid (talk) 15:30, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There was no consensus to move this page. Dekimasuよ! 00:59, 4 June 2009 (UTC) [reply]

Another merge request

Essentially repeating the same as what was wrote on the A8 countries page, a proposal back in March by an IP was made to merge that article in to this citing massive overlap, the two should be merged together for said reason and being basically the same topic. A re-direct can be created in the A8 articles place to here. Tweedle (talk) 21:08, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Colors in Progress: Acquis Chapters Section

Hi! I'm taking a look at some of the overcolored cleanup tags and was wondering if anyone could explain the "x"s in the acquis chapter part of the progress table? It seems like they mean "closed chapter" but all of them are "x"s so I'm not sure why there's that guide? Is it meant to be consistent with another article?

I would like to replace the "x"s with the meanings for the color-coded legend so that it is understandable by colorblind readers but I don't want to replace them if I'm not understanding why they are there. (If I did this I would put a note that all of the chapters were closed). SomeoneDreaming (talk) 01:24, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
